The quality of the e conte ( storyboard ) comes from Miyazaki Hayao beeing first an animator. That's why his movies are so action driven and why he can depict the feeling he needs in the scene so accurately. Don't forget he had been mentored by the amazing Ôtsuka Yasuo, one of the best japanese animator ever, who, by the way, animated the cars in this movie.
I watched this film when it came out. I was a 7th grader in Tokyo, Japan. Hayao Miyazaki and Yasuo Ohtsuka were big heroes for an anime fan like me (there was no term "anime-otaku" at that time).
Where Can I Download The Original Sprites, Models And Assets From I Need Them To Make A Fanmade Second Season Since The Show Just Had One Single Season
Great idea! You'd have to remake them in Flash since they're owned by Disney, but maybe they'll share the Flash assets one day, if enough fans ask for it.
Thanks for watching! As far as I know they're still posted online somewhere, I don't have any rights to them myself. Nickelodeon sometimes includes these in their DVD releases, I think that's how these usually get out into the public eye.
Thanks for the comment! Translation to English: "oh! I guess some foreigners have finally realized how good this movie is. Hayao Miyazaki's memorable debut work When Spielberg saw the car chase in this movie, he said, ``I don't have the confidence to surpass this movie, so I won't make it.'' A work full of romance by Hayao Miyazaki I lined up the day before the release and saw it three times on the day. Brochures are kept neatly When I die, I'll be cremated with you (I won't give it to anyone) If you haven't seen this movie, don't tell me you like Hayao Miyazaki."
Thanks! I suspect by the time I get to #70 I'll be looking back at this one thinking "Ahh, I could've done better" :D But that's how we constantly improve.
How does this only have 500 views?? A professor showed my class this when I was in college and I was blown away! It even inspired me to make my own version for an assignment!
Ahh, those are the only two Maggie episodes I animated on! But I have other breakdowns here, thanks for checking it out :) ru-vid.com/group/PLfI3qrmj07WraL6ZxhBNerVUwE-IA_ofn
Thanks for watching! I've done pixel art for several of my own projects, this was my first professional one though, usually I work in 3d and mocap these days.
This sure brings back memories! Great comments, Paul! My favourite inbetween/cleanup was working on the karate deer in slow mo' (animated in 3's) with Paul Boyd's wonderful guidance!
I've been looking into a lot about this show as of late and I really appreciate seeing a breakdown of some of the work you did here! It's interesting seeing the show and its assets in their proper form and learning little things that went into the animation here. That sort of glitchy jitter you did with Pupert as his heart breaks was quite clever and a fun effect for its time. Also, now that you've mentioned it, that face you made out of the mud is now my favorite character in the show.
Ahhh thanks much Christian! Yeah, this might be my favorite one so far, I was putting in 20 hours a week on it without having to force anything, nice when it all flows.
"This was dogpounds last episode" not if you count the hologram scene from the weird world of wyrm😂😂😂😂 but its super cool how you got to animate 29s of a tmnt episode. I loved watching it and you are amazing
Everything is "work for hire" so it's all owned in perpetuity by the company that hired us. But yeah, hopefully they will share all those fla's one day, would be great to make those public.
@@8bit_paul the show ended quite a while back so if someone (or you if you have any) releases some files, i dont think anything bad would happen and they might not care, also thanks for answering :)
i used to have the NTSC version of this. the sound was the original recording which sounds correct. all you can find online these days are the PAL recordings, which are pitch shifted up by one and sound "too bright". there used to be an NTSC recording online, got pulled, we never saw it again :(
Great video! Loved seeing you break it down and explain your thought process, even how you felt about your own drawn hands. Takes a lot of courage to admit that. As an animator currently in Vancouver, it sure is inspiring to watch this while also somewhat depressing. Would love to see studios like Intl. Rocketship pop back up and bring a unique flavour to Vancouver once more. You definitely wouldn't see this much unique creative freedom nowadays in current studio pipelines. Hope to meet you and others apart of these great productions one day!
Thanks so much! If you want to connect with me on Linkedin we can compare stories. I'm currently employed at Waterproof Studios and loving it there, the days of analog creativity are past but there are still quality experiences and employers out there. - Paul Johnson
