Mark is such a good person. During the mtv interview, you can see that he’s trying to connect with green day. And he’s also being vulnerable with Billie joe by admitting that the first show was terrible. He’s not trying to be the best one, just trying to be the best version of himself. I just love his authenticity. Everyone needs a friend like him.
I was really disheartened to find out Green Day's true motives behind this tour. Blink wanted a wholesome tour with a fellow kickass punk band, but I recently found out that Green Day had little respect for Blink, and only went on the tour to "reclaim their crown" and prove that they were better than Blink. I mean, as far as live performances go, Green Day ARE better. But it was still unfortunate to read all the condescending stuff Green Day had to say about Blink, especially Tré.
Mark and Travis were very sweet with green day. I also found it quite immature from green day. From the beginning, we can see mark being open and vulnerable with green day. Many years have passed, I’m pretty sure it’s all behind them and they’re now friends
19:06 unfortunately this was a very accurate description of the tour, this happened at the date I attended (6/4/2002). Tactical error to put Blink-182 after Green Day but they were SO much more popular on the radio/MTV at the time
