🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣this irrational belief in supernatural beings who can save you from fate or give you praise in an afterlife that doesn’t exist, is the biggest driver of hostility, hatred and wars. Take ww2 for example, no it wasn’t a religious war but religion, Christianity was used by Hitler to rally his troops, to sanction the treatment of Jewish people and others who went against Hitler. Why wouldn’t the Nazis believe when the Pope stood behind Hitler? What about the fighting between Israelis and Palestinians. Without a belief in the country being a holy city few people would choose to live in such an inhospitable region. A belief in god divides. Isn’t it time you grew up and stood on your own two feet and take personal responsibility for your own actions, realise that the hate you feel for someone else or their actions is your problem, realise that everyone desires the same things for themselves and their families, realise that this is the only life during which you can prove yourself. So be the best and kindest you can.

By speaking the love of God, he was preaching. By strengthening the Catholics of the nations he visited, he spread the Gospel. A little context for further thought: I'm a catholic musician and have *very hard time* understanding where and how to apply my creative energy for the sake of loving others. I lead a choir at my local parish, but there is a desire to create art on a larger scale that, when confronted with what is being said here, hits a kind of wall. How does my art get heard if I don't "build a personal brand"? Not that I want to, I hate social media and find it exhausting - but it seems that in order for art to be consumed, you have to play by the rules the culture has established. I don't see any way around this. The desire for martyrdom may be present, but it ends up looking like you dying alone in the wilderness instead of being crucified by political leaders (who never heard your message in the first place!)

Thank you for sharing. There’s a catholic church near where I live and I always walk by her statue on my morning walk and read the inscription nearly everyday. After a while I got curious and found this video. Thank you for this presentation. She sounds like a true mystic and believer in Christ. I think it’s very easy for us to criticize her perceived flaws regarding the crusades. That’s called presentism - we think we know more or would have done better in her place during that time in history. Look around, we absolutely 100% would not have.

I just wanted to let you know that in the many books I've read on the subject by historians like Ruth Harris etc , that photograph you have shown at 3.05 mins is cited but not as not Bernadette , but a group of other child visionaries in the region which is often cited as a historical reference to the frequency of visions seen by children in rural areas of the area. Apologies if you knew already but you did introduce the photo as ' Bernadette and a crowd watching her..." That is definitely not Bernadette Soubirous.
