Be patent, it will all come good soon. I was in a similar situation with my training. Took 2 years to complete CP then I had a short wait for my first soaring flight!
Shit! Kudos on you, pilot. This is a great demonstration of airmanship. Would love to have details of the accident (flap problem on the rigid?). But I suppose the pilot wasn’t in the best mood for tales. Glad to hear he’ll recover!
Details of the cause of the accident was published in the BHPAs SkyWings magazine: morphfx.co.uk/mobile/hang-gliding/diary.php?date=29Sep2013#mediaId=220
So why didn't you face the A frame of your kite in the direction of the downed pilot so we could all see just what it was you were doing before the car arrived?
Wasn't really thinking about framing of the video at the time; that was the fastest way to secure my glider and get to the casualty. Positioning the glider in that direction prevents the wind from getting under the wing and flipping it over.

As a fellow hg pilot, I'm thinking that you're in a lone mass of rising air and that the lower 'rigid' glider is showing you the absence of any lift at launch and I'm thinking at any moment you're about to hit that sinking air. Ah, it was the other guy's faulty set-up that kept him down there.
Goddamn you are truly one of my best creations and it's nice to see you flying like a bird don't be afraid to go above 12,000 feet because I will always provide oxygen for you even at 36,000 feet in your house without any special equipment and don't worry about cold it's just in your head
Yes PS I forgot to say don't try it until I give you permission and you will know when the permission comes so until that time stable and 15,000 feet above sea level providing the atmospheric pressure is above 978 mbar
I made another post and I used a rude word please check your junk post and add it please as it's the most important message you have received ever ever
Love this best video I've ever seen on RU-vid and I have the most respect for you and I don't know who then 873 that I've put thumbs down at the top of this post
Hi Jens, that was a very windy day! The whole uncut video clip is now here: www.morphfx.co.uk/video/mp4/lanz-jens-artus.mp4 It'll be there for a couple of weeks, so download a copy and enjoy. Fly safe!
Dan, you are cruel! Tantalising us with your long exciting flight! Seriously, glad to see you landed safe n well, I haven't flown for yrs! Take care next time, S
@@Dan-oh8or yes, 45 mins from launch to landing and all quite terrifying! Bumpy to 1500 ASL. Then smooth gale hanging followed by scary cloud suck to 2000' worrying about embedded nasties and subsequent roller coaster landing. One reason I stayed at home today!
Well, let's just say during this Lockdown I've had plenty of time on my hands so wanted to do something a bit creative! Hope you're still flying - I am really going to make an effort to get back to Suffolk this year! Stay safe!
I have thought rigid wing gliders suck ever since flying my Delta Wing 6D with Icarus 1’s at Sylmar 30 years ago and seeing my buddy John Morrison in a body cast after his accident. So glad this pilot is ok!
