saw this outcome from your very first turn. why does everyone that needs to use the pole straps not? nothing screams ROOKIE more than not knowing how to wear a ski pole strap
President's Day weekend... enough said. I skipped a few days to rehab a sore knee and didn't feel like I missed a whole lot. At least the singles line was working for you.
Kind of a how not to guide. Lost a pole on the traverse and then skis on the top of the chute. if you dropped the far side of Z, theres a nice snowfield all the way down the chute
So we tried doing this run today and most of Hellroaring Basin was roped off. We ended up going in Gate 3 further down into the steepest terrain with the closest trees I've ever been in. I can't even say that we skied it but we did survive it! Good times.
Sitting here in Whitefish watching videos of Whitefish! I like that run too but I usually skip the first pitch and go around the corner on Inside Road to jump in. Tree skiing is the best.
30 years been 30 years since i skied the Big. a deteriorating back condition ended my ski days. i worked at the Stube for a winter ('83) and worked security for 2+ years. was Summit House caretaker in 1986 (from April 10th to June 15th) during construction phase. forgot what it looks like. Winter Carnival coming up. Stop by the Northern and see my buddies play. I think they're using the Huckclebear name..... anyway. The Peterson boys (Rick and Will - former neighbors) and their dad, Billy - of Steve Miller fame and another Steve Miller member, lead guitarist Kenny Lee.
At the time, yes. Hence the crash. These days I would look forward to that beautiful run and maybe wish it had some bumps or other features. I have been fortunate enough to have a lot of improvement in the years since this video.
