Oh nice console you got here! Very good job. Btw do you know how this panel with a lot of single-pole switches that looks like keyboard named that locked door when master stoles tardis?
Fantastic video!!! Thank you so much - this proudly hangs in my home - never fully appreciated just how much work went into it! Great video - love the humour and tone and views into the thought process behind it (and the Enterprise bridge incidentals in the background)!!!
how in the blazes? seriously holy crap that is unbelievably amazing like that looks exactly like the console from the show like did you rob BBC?? no but seriously oh damn its brilliant, it is a beautiful piece of work and i hope your happy and still happy with this masterpiece. i wish you the best of luck with any of your future projects, cause if you can make this then there is literally nothing stopping you not even the laws of geometry or physics.
Sadly the console (and I) is in New Zealand so it’s a long way for you travel for a geekout. Not saying it wouldn’t be worth it though - give me a shout if you’re ever down under!
Yes, certainly still have it, I tinker and add bits from time to time and always intend to 'finish it properly" one day. A room tour, hmmmm.... It's not much to look at but there are a few interesting things... okay - I'll put that on my to-do list! :)
Might have had a bit of inspiration from there! I figure time machines must have similar parts. This was made from a set of 'icicle' garden LED lights and is my non-canon contributions to the console..
Thanks so much kanton4108! It's been a fairly long labour of love but makes me smile every time I go in and start switching on the parts and motors....
Aw shucks. I'm sure you could do the same, it just takes lots and lots of time, stupid attnetion to detail and a whole room of your house being given over to it. Easy...
@@krauterz Well, who am I to disagree!!? Of course you'll want to do a Dalek too.. and a Weeping Angel, and a K9... it never ends. I now want to figure out a good excuse for building a 1963 console too but there's REALLY nowhere to put it...
Thank you TheLostTimelord, much appreciated! I've tried to be as close as possible to the real prop while making many of the part actually light, move and operate something. As far as I know it is the most accurate replica in the world even with the things I still need to add or finish..
Thanks for that! I have quite a large number of screen accurate parts on this already and know of quite a few more but either can't find or afford them. There's lots of research on this at our site: tardisbuilders.com if you' haven't been there yet. ON this console I have accurate compass, candle holders, glass balls, studded balls, wheel spacers, car fuses, extinguisher, brake handles, sewing machine handles, touch light, HDD hubs and various other bits. If you know the details of the tri-lobe parts on the arms or can source accurate oil glasses or the main demat lever housing I'd be VERY interested though - they've never been 100% identified for source. Thanks King Creator!
@@kingcreates1379 Yup, that's the hardest part!!! :) Appropriate really that time and space are such a challenge. Oh, and the money! Good luck with yours, reach out on the tardis board if you want to chat.
@@kingcreates1379 Awesome, that's very handy! What have you gotten hold of so far? I have ID on quite a few things (like the Provost Piston parts) but they are never going to be affordable but if you've spotted other items in the wild well done!
Mr Eccleston was one of the doctors most of them all team up those that were lelt we still remember them like it was yesterday when we all took the team just once more the memories of those who had come out remarkable well and was a successful time for all the love for the doctors 👍😀👏a thumbs up show 👍😀👏👌😉🙌👍😀👏👌😉🙌👍😀👏roses 🌹👍😀👏👌😉🌹👍😀👏purple 💙💜👍😀👌👏💙💜👍😀👌👏💙💜👍😀👌roses 🌹👍😀👌😉👏🌹👍😀👌😉👏🌹👍xxxxxx xxxxxx 💙❤♥xxxxxx ❤😀👍👌😉xxxxxx ❤
Thanks Doctor Spicer 11 - it takes up a bit of room but it never fails to make me smile when I turn the lights on and run around like a lunatic throwing levers and switches...
This was amazing. I’m thinking of doing the same thing in the future. Are there any websites I could go to in order to find the different items making up the console? If not could you perhaps let me know where to get some of the items? All the best. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Dylan! tardisbuilders.com is the single best source on the internet for all info on tardises and consoles - lots of data and research plus examples of peoples builds. I could talk for hours on what is on this particular console - which parts are real, which fabricated, which ID'ed and which still have unknown sources. This one has the entire frame made from wood/MDF, panels are resin, the central column on the real one was custom made in perspex and most of the controls were 'junk' which we've been working for some years to identify. Hit me up with any specific questions if you like though!
Thanks very much! I sourced lots of original parts that are identical to what is on the real console (compass, sextant, extinguisher, some lenses etc) so that brings the cost up but mostly it's made from things I've made at home so it's not bad. All up I think I probably spent about NZD$1000 on it in parts (USD$600ish) though the countless hours of research and building would put the labour costs into some high figures!
