i dont think it's like a personal failing to be uncomfortable with wearing one's hair as it is when it has been so heavily demonized. what frustrates me is the defensive, reactionary nature of *some* people who seem to be resistant to even considering their dislike of their hair is coming from an anti-black place. we all have intenralized anti-blackness and if you think your kinky hair is inherently less than, then yea, it's worth unpacking that. again, it's not a moral failing, we all have internalized anti-blackness bc we live in a white supremacist world.
