In your opinion what are the weaknesses of the 390? I have a ktm690 and a beta 200 but i really want to do the tour of Idaho but i live in western NC so I do a lot of similar riding as you. I looking for a bike i could do that trip on and enjoy here.
I think the 390 would be a perfect bike for that. I've rode all sorts of different terrain on it and it does wonderful. I have even ridden it to work and back a few times as well (7 miles of backroads) and it does great. I don't think you would want be cruising down the highway for an extended period of time without changing gearing but it works just fine. It's practically street legal out of the box too. The only weakness for me is when it comes to dead engine starts in harescrambles (takes a few seconds to light up) and the fact that it doesn't come with a cooling fan from the factory, which is not a big deal really as they are easy to install and not that expensive. I would also recommend getting a bigger fuel tank if you plan on doing the tour of Idaho on it. Oh, and if you plan to put pannier bags on it, some makeshift heat shields for the exhaust would be much needed. Cheers!
Do you have any problems in the Enduro with the lower ground clearance? I’m looking at getting a 390 and just realized it has a little over an inch less ground clearance than my RM 125!
Damn dude, impressive. I was very close to getting up to the tundra on my T7. Had a difficult time with getting traction the whole time up... what PSI are you running
@@Pman4747 I have MotOz RallZ Rear, Mitas Enduro XT+ front. I’ll have a vid up tomo of me attempting red cone on my channel if you want to see me struggle. Also have Rally Raid by Tractive… should of probably lowered my Comp more… that setup up likes the bike moving fast
Do whatever makes you happy. I bought mine without ever test riding one and I love it. I feel it is a bike that anyone could ride with no issues. I sometimes wonder if I would have had more or less fun on a 350 or 450 KTM, Husky, GasGas, etc and I have no idea! Cheers!
Best Beta videos out there. So where do you think the bike is holding you up? And where do you think personally you can pick up time/speed in your riding.
Thanks for the feedback! Apart from a few minor suspension upgrades and possibly brakes... the only thing holding me back is me! The bike is far more capable than I am. I tend to ride on the cautious side, I could definitely be faster.
I was quickly informed by some other riders that day! Was my first time exploring colorado on a bike, I did not know the rules as I'm a dumb flat lander from Illinois. I thought avoiding a rough patch of trail would be okay, but it wasn't. Next time I will be more cautious. Thanks!
@@Pman4747 Oh nice!!! I'd like to snag a 2024 and my plan is to come up and ride the Cahokia Enduro with y'all on June 2nd!!! Your videos got me hooked on that trail. Looks awesome!
In the '80's a small group of riders known as the Top of Texas Dirt Riders, from Pampa TX leased 10,000 acres of land near Turkey TX. We leased it with the intent of having our own enduro on the High Plains Enduro Circuit, and the Texas State Championship Enduro Circuit. We were successful. But it was quite an undertaking for our small group of ten. After a couple of years it became more than our group could handle, then the Post Enduro Assocation made it the epic event it is today. Incredible riding area, with incredible memories!
This is awesome! Those trails were super tight but you had a nice flow going. It's hard to see the arrows in the video because you're ripping it and they come up quickly. Your videos are a riot to watch! I'm going to come and ride one of these events next year (Lord-Willing)...
@@Pman4747 Nicely done! You just don't seem to make mistakes. Very nice riding. Did you end up doing anything with the suspension on your bike? I ride A but I'm hearing even some AA guys say the Race Edition is valved stiff. Not sure what model I'd enjoy for your type of riding.
@@djarecke Since I always have to work on Monday, I don't push myself as hard as I used to! Trying to decide whether to race A or B again this season.. But no I haven't made any modifications to the suspension other than raising the forks in the triple clamps a bit. I also run a few clicks STIFFER than the race settings on the KYB setup sheet found on Betas website. For just trail riding and putting around, it is quite stiff. I feel like its perfect for me during a race however. I weigh about 165 lbs.
How's the high speed stability and what issues,if any,you had with the 390? I'm racing husky 501 and just too much a handful for my(SE&TRA/NEPG-12 races 23)
Bike is perfect all around in my opinion, best 4 stroke I've had. Only issue I've had was a fuel line came apart inside the fuel tank, but that was my own fault!
Great to watch. That Beta soundtrack is fantastic. I’ve heard beta’s may not be as agile as some competitors in tight stuff. What’s your feeling on that?
@@VignesLVG I would agree it is not as agile as some other bikes (steering radius gets cut short due to the forks hitting the radiators). I was able to modify it to work better and i have no issues. On super tight corners, I have learned to slide into them or pivot turn if needed. At high speeds, it is more stable than any other bike I've rode. However, they did fix that issue on the 24 models.
@Pman4747 I was in same row as you, you were getting it I couldn't keep up. I hit tree about couple miles before finish thought broke leg and dnf. Was great day till then.
@@rwalden1999 Ah man that's no good buddy! Hope it heals up quick! Was definitely a fun day, one of my favorite races of the year. Hope to see you next year!
Thanks for watching and for the feedback! In my opinion, it is one of the best Enduros of the year in my area. I always have fun there! Last year was super dry, shouldn't be so bad this year. I will definitely be there, coming up this Sunday!
Looking at your older videos looks like you came off a 250xc? I’ve been thinking of moving from my te300 to a 390. How do you like the 390 vs the 2 stroke?
The 390 is a whole different animal compared to the 250xc. I still have the 250xc but can't seem to get off the 390. So much fun to ride. Smooth as butter, plenty of power, not as fast as the 250 but I am faster on it. Doesn't beat me up as bad either on a 2 or 3 hour race. It really shines in corners and the rough stuff. I would definitely recommend one. Keep in mind they weigh more, require more maintenance, and get a little hotter when you are going slow. Oh, and your 2 stroke friends will all make fun of you!! But they can't keep up...
The KYB forks are quite stiff but perfect for my type of riding. передняя вилка довольно жесткая. отлично подходит для моего стиля катания. Может быть не так удобно для трейловой езды.
@@Alda06121 on a regular RR model? I believe the shock is already similar to kyb. It is the forks that are different. The Sachs are open cartridge where the kyb are closed cartridge forks. Spring should only be changed if you weigh more or less than the factory spring is rated for.
Amazing man! By the way did you have any problems using the QuadLock offroad? Quadlock doesnt make a case for my phone so I had to use the sticker version which makes me nervous when I go offroad
