This part was phenomenal. The entire game you are told not to trust Mother Sphere. "Don't trust Mother Sphere; she's a rogue AI that kills humans!" "Don't trust Mother Sphere; she's just using people as tools!" "Don't trust Mother Sphere; she's incompetent and got all the Airborne Squads slaughtered!" All the logical things in the game say don't trust Mother Sphere while calling into the question the overwhelming faith everyone has in her. Then this part happens. Eve is falling from space, burning from reentry, and the only thing Lily can do is send a desperate cry for help to the Colony. And Mother Sphere answers. She has no context about what is going on. She doesn't know that Eve is close to completing the mission. She doesn't know that Eve is close to Adam. Doesn't even know that the end of the war is close. She only knows that one of her Angels is falling from the sky and she sends the exo-suit to save her. It's mythical. This situation sounds like something out of a religious text. "The Goddess saves her Angel." It's an extremely good scene that builds up the pseudo-godhood that Mother Sphere has, and making it clear why the androids look up to her as their leader and god.
Completely unrelated but I love the fact you get the True Ending by just enjoying the game, no like big task or anything, just play the game. I accidentally got the True ending and I thought that was just what happened by beating the game. 1000/10 game.
Man i just STRUGGLED SO HARD to beat R---- so coming here was extra special. The music in this game is seriously so incredible, the NieR vibes are off the charts. 9/10 game.
I figured this fight was coming when I realized that mech unit hadn't been used once in game thought for sure me and lily we're gonna be double teaming in the final sections to make it seem like a intense siege on the nest
The electronic shock was pretty brutal, and makes more sense.. for the Android lore but for somereason when i saw providence's thrusters overheating.. I thought something even more gut wrenching would happen and that lilly was about to be forcefully burned alive inside the mech. Or that flame would ignite out the front and surround her o.o probably would of been abit to gruesome.. tho i can probably think of more devastating ways the mech could of ended her.. :') i will say the limp legs was very morbid..
Oh this, is, FILTHY! 🔥🤘 Raven's themes are both sick drops. This one in particular represent her mental corruption, with the phasing of the voice cementing that. Just like Eve's & Lily's themese have clear harmonious vocals, Raven's are just garbled in a way. The rest of the theme has a beat, like her fight pattern, but with a devious intent in its notes.
It's really awesome that several, important to the game, tracks share similar, exact or sometimes mirrored/parallel motifs and melodies. Star Descent, Tachy Boss Fight's, Flooded Commercial Sector, this one and probably a few others with this vocalist. Mindblowing soundtrack altogether.
I remember this song from when i was younger, i was playing unturned with a friend and some of his mates who didn't like me, they ended up betraying me for my stuff and leaving me. I spent a long time plotting my revenge, recruiting some other friend of mine to help me and miraculously finding some pretty heavy weapons. As i was listening to the HM2 playlist in the background, this song came up as we were driving to where they had their stuff setup. As the song was reaching its climax, i remember thinking to myself if it's worth it, if killing all of them would be fulfiling or just pointless. Being older now i find it funny how Hotline Miami's message about violence was present even in that silly case lol
