I have difficulty arises how to set track device in Eplan when select the device and press F button so the device track on some pages along with contact coil (box) and it's cross references also the cross references on interception point to set.
I´m a university student from México and I like heard you while I am doing my homework, I was working for a factory that use eplan for make electrical engineering and you help me for have a conversation about eplan and the innovation of the software, my english is not perfect but I like heard your videos because I learn how to pronunciate some words correct, great videos! I´m our fan

The easiest way to get help with this is to create a ticket. It's super easy. Here's a link on how to do it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3Ux5kIZzkBg.html
Thanks for reaching out. Derick's response is Go to File > Settings > User > Graphical editing > Connection symbols and activate “Connection symbols with prompt”. Hope this helps.
Hi. Thanks for making this available. I have a few questions: 1. From what I understand, you provide a macro project per manufacturer. Are those only for new parts that will eventually be added to the EDP, or can we expect the same for ALL manufacturers' parts, even those already on the EDP? The reason I'm interested is that most manufacturers' parts currently available on the EDP are created in mm. I have many customers who use inch-based grid plotframes, and modifying each macro individually is a time-consuming process. If we had macro projects for all manufacturers, then we could more easily edit their macros and make them fit on the inch grid. 2. Is there anything on EPLAN's roadmap to automate the conversion of mm-based macros to inch (and possibly vice-versa)? I understand this would be a bit difficult to get perfect results 100% of the time, but it would greatly speed up the conversion to the final result, even if all we can get is a conversion 70% of the way. I've been thinking of developing such a tool in API, but if it's something already in your pipeline, then I'll use my API development time towards other tools. 3. As a temporary workaround, is there currently a workflow where I would select some parts in the EPM, and have EPLAN create a macro project from existing macros? Even if we had to put only one variant, and representation type, per page in the macro project, this would be a very good starting point. The time-consuming aspect of doing this manually for each macro is obviously to insert each variant, and each representation type, manually. In some cases, macros can easily have 4 variants, each with 2-3 representation types. A single macro would easily result in dozens of individual macro boxes. Doing this manually is not something that users are willing to invest time in. So, thanks again for what you're making available to us. Please consider my questions/comments above for future versions. In my 20+ years of using EPLAN, both as a user and then as a consultant, this is one of the most common complaints I get from customers when setting them up for the first time and they realize that the EDP is practically 90% metric. Of course, if everybody all went mm, that would make our lives easier 😎 If we dig a bit deeper into this, we can even conclude that a system of units for 2D electrical schematics is really an arbitrary choice. They could be pixels, twerps, em, or even a custom unit system, and it would be transparent to users. Please note that I'm only talking about schematic pages (single-line, multi-line, and so forth). On the other hand, mechanical drawings, such as panel layout pages, must support metric and imperial measurements (as they already do today), but an electrical schematic, is really unitless. Users are not going to put measurements on schematic pages, as it's really only an abstract representation used to define the source and targets of connections. If schematics pages had a single system of units, this would remove the need for manufacturers to maintain two separate sets of macros on the EDP. That would even still allow exporting/importing EPLAN pages to any existing units by applying the proper conversion ratio. Anyway, these are just thoughts that occurred to me over time. I'm sure there are cases where my whole reasoning would go up in smoke. I just felt like sharing it, and who knows, maybe start a discussion. Regards
Thanks for your patience on these questions. The answers to your questions were provided by our Professional Services department and are as follows: Question 1, the assumption his is that you are referring to the new EPLAN downloads for NFPA data that have been made available for US customer. The parts selected for these downloads have been chosen based on feedback from our Channel Partners. Where these are for existing manufacturers, we are working to encourage them to create official NFPA Inch data for the Data Portal. Where they are not current represented on the Data Portal we working to bring them onboard. For Question 2 & 3 there is a related answer. There has been some effort into creating conversion tools/utilities however we are not aware that this reached a point where such a tool would be available. There was a system that allowed user to request part data though the Data Portal in the past however it was not well received so has unfortunately been discontinued. You are absolutely correct with your statement “an electrical schematic, is really unitless” the consultants and application engineers here at EPLAN recognize this. With new customer there are standard consulting packages we encourage them to use. This helps them get up to speed quickly and as part of the package we help then set up basic project to include the plot frames and common report and these are offered as in IEC, NFPA Inch, and NFPA mm form. We encourage our NFPA customer to use the mm based template for many reason not the least of which is the large amount of data available to them on the Data Portal as you identified. To help them with the decision to use millimeters Plot Frames we supply in the NFPA_mm basic project look identical to the inch based version on the screen and importantly when printed. We also have NFPA_mm based Part Macro Project available for them to use and help the to start a NFPA_mm based macro library and as part of the consulting we teach then the step to take IEC macros and easily convert them for use in and NFPA setting. With the consulting we also supply a tool that automates the linking of the new NFPA macros to the parts Database. We also point of that a huge amount of the “IEC” parts use a function template and symbols rather than a macro and these work in any standard without any changes
I see that ePlan USA is make much more hard work for its youtube channel than everything that I have seen before on the internet. Fingers crossed. I am electric designer in ePlan for 14years and I know how good is this software.
@@eplanusa Sure. So maybe about every extension which is available in the newest version visible in license window - what power is behind them? Maybe about EPLAN Certified Engineer - how hard it is to attain it and for whom it is? Maybe about tips and tricks which were also published in newsletter? - very helpful for me Maybe about the greatest power of ePlan which is in my opinion Navigators (not like a pop-up windowe which block others behind but as always available place for setting)?
Why aren't your video views increasing? And not reaching people? The reason is 1. Your video is not being SEO properly 2. Your video is not reaching the right people 3. Not using video hashtags properly 4. Not sharing the video on social media 5.You have not used the channel tags and video tag There are a few more reasons. That's why your videos are limited to your channel. Can't get out In a word, your video is awesome. such videos are in great demand. If you do these things correctly. Hopefully you will get a lot of visitors. I am a digital marketer and RU-vid expert. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have. If i can help a wonderful person like you. Feel lucky. I will cooperate with you in all kinds. I am waiting your reply,
Hi Sean. Looking good! I'm moving my team from 2.9 to 2023 over the week-end. I just presented the new UI to the team, and one of them pointed me to this video. The new way of handling the different standards had caught his attention, so we also looked at portions of this video. I had not caught on this new feature, and it was something that was causing some pain points in 2.9, so it is a really welcome improvement. I've got a few minor points that I'd like to discuss with you eventually, so I'll send you an email with my laundry list 😁 Keep up the good work! I like the new UI and features. I think they open many doors for further improvements.
@@eplanusa I've moved my team to 2023, and even though there are a few wrinkles, things are going good at the moment. EPLAN should put in place some kind of periodic user feedback workshops where improvement ideas "from the trenches" could be discussed directly with product management. After 23 years of using EPLAN products, having worked for the company, and worked with hundreds of users as a freelance consultant, I feel that the ideas I've gathered could benefit the day-to-day experience of users, but I sometimes feel isolated. The ESC is great for support, but I don't find it to be a good tool to have such discussions. Cheers
Hi Sean, you always provide great presentations but it would be better to do them without your camera view. This way we get more screen space just to see the actual presentation.
You can select multiple pages at once and right click to access the properties and change them all at once. Thanks for your question and hope that helps.
My opinion (User since 1.9): The only useful function is the "Save as lower version". Still the 2.7 version being the lowest makes even this function not so great (also we can use the xml export). The EPLAN View beats the free web viewer with the option to view the project in real time. The pdf comment navigator beats this slow and laggy web comment features. It takes few seconds to generate smart project pdf and send via email, while uploading project to EMANAGE, if the project is a bigger one, takes a lot of time, and sometimes it does not even upload it. Uploading a project backup to different cloud and sharing a link is the same, so why should I use EMANAGE? This will need a lot of work to be useful. For this to work, design environment must be in the web browser, not on the desktop. I guess... EPLAN 2030?
How do I create a fused terminal block with a symbol that has 4 connections points so the jumper is shown on the schematic page? I can only find a fused terminal block symbol with 2 connection points
@ericbucklen6748, You can use the 2-connection symbol and change the function definition to “Terminal with saddle jumper, 2 connection points”, then you can utilize the logical saddle jumper connection through the Edit Terminal strip window or use T-nodes to have 2 connections to the terminal, EPLAN will consider one of the connections as saddle jumper if it is connected to the adjacent terminal.

Menno, sorry, but your comment is pretty useless in its current form. How about you actually provide information about the issue instead of just complaining, expecting people to read your mind?
Hello. Thank you for great video. Do you have any idea systems informs me that i need to close the project to import the data back to Eplan (2022)? If i close the project and press import to Eplan (in Poroject complete SW), than i got part number is Eplan (after reopen the project). Otherwise it says that the project is "locked". Thank you

We currently don't have the time machine option in EPLAN 2023, but do plan on making it available with upcoming versions. We also list events here: www.eplanusa.com/company/events/webcasts/ and you can subscribe to our LinkedIn page.

This function is available with EPLAN Data Portal Standard access. Currently you have EPLAN Data Portal Guest access. If you wish to get EPLAN Data Portal Standard access, please contact your EPLAN system consultant.
Quite nice step-by-step instructions - but do you have any suggestions how to make home working faster (when multiple users are editing same eplan design) ? So we are quite often in that situation that local project isn't a real possibility, and people have to make design to same project, even so that they are physically quite far apart (>200miles/>300km --> creates lag in data communications). Sometimes projects freeze while doing updates etc, the normal things. Nothing like this naturally appears when working inside office. Tried to ping our file server though VPN tunneling to where Eplan design documents are, pings were something like 54-898ms (avg 139ms) with 16kbit packets. 40 packets in total.
