Thank you for posting this video. I just wanted to say one thing though, it would have been much better if it was a persons voice. The computer voice was skipping words and just kind of through me off. I am someone that is easily distracted by something as simple as this. Definitely not putting down the video. Only offering my opinion of a suggestion that could help make it better!
For you NON-FICTION writers: Questions are your best freind. Use questions that you can give detailed answers on. Make each question if a different paragraph UNLESS the questions are simmilar enough that you can group them together. Your introduction should ask the question you will answer later on. Your conclusion should sumarize the previous answers in your report in clear and consise sentances. Good luck?
*For those of you on a time limit* HOW TO WRITE A BOOK REPORT! 1: *summarize* take your book and look up the summary of each chapter. Jot down the important details as bullet points. This will allow you to see the progression of the story. If your book isn't posted online, skim over 2 chapters at a time and take 1 - 3 important details at a time. 2. Your report should be split into sections. 2a. INTRODUCTION. Make a good hook like you are advertising the book. Remember, your first line should have a smooth flow into the paragraph. If you use a metaphor, you can carry it though out your report or reference it in your conclusion for consistency. Yiur introduction can be used as an outline. As questions to the reader of your report to lure them in, then answer them through out the sections. 2b. *Begining paragraphs*. The number of paragraphs can range from 1 to 3, but i recommend 1 if you teacher only wants a limited number of paragraphs. Your first few details of the book BEFORE the climax. Everything before the climax should be in your first few paragraphs. Depending on what exactly you are supposed to focus on, this should cover how the theme and parallels between characters are intoduced. What are the characters ignorant of? What are their positive or negitive traits? What problem arises that needs to be overcome? How do these chapters form the main message of the book? 2c. *Middle paragraphs* This section will focus on your climax. This is the high point of the book. What do the characters actions convey about them? What is the theme based off what the characters have done and how it affects them? Look up examples of theme if you are unfamiliar with the concept. 2d: *ending paragraphs* this section hold the falling actions of the story. Everything after the climax. The fall out if you will. What happens to the characters at the end? Is it possitive or negitive? what did they learn or what did they become blinded by or ignorant of? How does the differences from the begining of the book compare to the ending of the book? What is the main message of the book? 3. If you uave time, take a 30-60min break then read your report with fresh eyes. Correct any spelling mistakes and make sure each section is clearly labled and orginized. Comment if you have any questions.
