Welcome to my channel where I post fishing videos ranging from wade fishing for Trout and Redfish to pier fishing for Tarpon and Kingfish in the Summer and Bull Reds in the Winter.
I'm from alaska. What pisses me off about fishing game is they'll give you a ticket for several hundred dollars for each fish you catch over your limit. They can take your truck boat gear and house if they want to. All of this while they allow the Chinese to rape the fishery. Make it make sense.
@ronmarrone5722 we were walking on the Port Aransas South Jetty in Port Aransas, Texas. The boots we were using were the Korker Terror Ridge boots, I have an Amazon Affiliate link to them in the video description.
@Robinson_Estrella thank you! We are using the Korker Terror Ridge boots, they come with felt soles but we were using the option Carbide Spike sole that you can purchase separately.
When fishing the saltwater the curado mgl does not like it the trax is still smooth as butter after 100 trips Curado was rough after 5. Got one for sale $100 bucks
Do you have massive families that you cant afford to feed or something try contraception, as a fanatical fisherman I just don't understand the kill everything possible mentality. Fresh fish is the best way to catch and eat as once it's been frozen you may as well go buy it from a supermarket after it sat in a trawler freezer for a week. Do you go hunting and shoot everything on sight cause you can?
I don't understand why people can't mind there own business what works for one person don't always work for the next person and as long as what another person does isn't harming nobody so be it💯🤷🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
@gromnasty this day we were at the end of the Port Aransas Jetties which is roughly 0.7 miles from the shore. So we can't really bring an ice chest out there. We put the fish on a stringer and place it in the water so the fish are usually still alive before we make the walk back to the shore where the ice chest full of ice awaits.
@@MattsSaltwaterFishing just wondering cuz I be catching up to 20 sargos and the are looking bad by the time I make it to the car and get ice but I'm going to start performing ikejime on them and bleed them asap are you familiar with this technique? Also you just got me pump just by watching your video ✊️💪
@gromnasty if there are hours between you performing ikejime on the fish and then them being put on ice, I would wait. Your best bet would be to try and keep the fish alive on a stringer and then performing ikejime right before the walk in. Glad to hear you enjoy the videos, we appreciate it! 💪
@@MattsSaltwaterFishing Some people keep the fish alive in a bucket, they think they are doing the right thing by wanting to extend its life as long as possible to preserve its freshness. Unfortunately, that’s the worst thing you can do. The suffering lasts much longer, the stress of the fish is increased, the production of lactic acid and ammonia is much greater, the quality of the flesh will deteriorate much more quickly. The flesh will be tasteless, full of water and its texture will lose quality.
What's up fellas. How you guys been? I got a question. Throwing lures like top water or other lures in the surf. What rod size do you like? Not a jetty rod. But something to use in the wade gut type of fishing
@johnnycortez46 hey, Johnny, we have been doing well, I hope you have as well. As far as throwing lures in the surf or wadefishing we use rods that are about 7'. You can go down to 6'6 or up to 7'6, there isn't really a wrong choice. Throw what feels good to you and something you can make several casts. For wadefishing in the bay I would try and get something around 6'6 but in the surf definitely something 7'6.
@@johnnycortez46 those sound like the shark / tuna rods you should easily be able to put a 50w and 80w on them. Depending on condition they could fetch a good price to the right buyer.
lmao i like how that guy stole ur spot while you were putting the fish away. hate to be fishing like that, elbow to elbow. great way to catch a hook in the ear or worse. i've been hit with crankbaits a couple times
Thank you! For the most part the bite seemed better a little bit further out on this day. Some days they are right on the other side of the rocks though.
