I’m curious what the yellow flowers are in the background of the mallards? A type of helianthis perhaps? Seems the horses were sheltering from the bugs… pasture so nice their bellies would fill quickly.

Yes summer is good…all seasons are. I’m over the heat as I’m not a heat fan. But, in its way it’s good too as you showed us Mike. That moss and algae and tannin filled waters are all beautiful in your lens. New R5 ii yet?

This is a lovely video with some great videography. You captured some amazing images of the scenery, and the flora and fauna . I especially loved the images of the young buck in the canola and the screeching hawk sitting on the fence post. Seeing wild animals, birds, and insects, in their natural environment, out in nature, as God intended, always fascinates me. But I must say, it would have been much more enjoyable if you had told us what country, state, or provence, we were seeing in the video. Even though I assume we were seeing images from one of the midwestern or western states in the USA, it could just as well have been video of one of the provinces in Canada.

Thank you for your kind words and I have to admit that it has never occurred to me to mention my location. I have been doing this for so long that I just assumed that viewers knew I'm located in southern Alberta right next to the Rocky Mountains in Canada. I'll try to remember to include that in the description. Thanks!

Best fries I’ve had in years were in Vulcan. Surprised you didn’t have one shot of the Enterprise or shuttlecraft, after the meteor pics. Boldly go, and all that.

Boldly went where no one has gone before years ago! 😁And making fries is an under-appreciated art, one that few excel at. Glad you found some good ones!

Not only are you a standout photographer…yes I mean it and the pun too is intended…you’re also now the turkey whisperer. Unlike you I’m a mountain dude…but, I’ve only been to the Canadian prairie vicariously through your videos. Dandy video Mike.

You are too kind, Bob! But if you have been to the grasslands of Colorado or Nebraska, the landscape is very similar. Very little yucca and a lot more fescue but we have roughly similar flora and fauna, right down to rattlesnakes and scorpions. Come on up some time!
@SanJuanMountainBob
@SanJuanMountainBob 15 дней назад
@@mdrewpix1 I have been out on the Nebraska prairie country. It’s nice, but I don’t recall anything as nice as your pictures show. I think part of it is up north you have groves of aspens and pines even in the prairie country. This far south it’s elms and such. Not as nice in my opinion but it’s been years since I’ve been there. Yes we need to venture north of the border for sure.

Wasn't there a Dam blow out on the Milk river in Montana, earlier this year near Babb, could that have to do with the low water at Writing on Stone ?
@mdrewpix1
@mdrewpix1 15 дней назад
Yes, it was actually a siphon carrying water from the St. Mary River to the north fork of the Milk River. I'll be exploring that soon.

Mornings are my time, even when the light isn’t calling me out- although I admit being slower when it’s just off a frost. When it’s a true frost or fog, I’m out to admire the patterns - with an apology to my frozen fingers. That fruit looked delicious although it’s not one I’m familiar with. Anything growing wild tastes so much better👍

Smoke does change the light and colors a lot. Even though it’s a natural part of forest life, we feel for the folks in Jasper that lost property or more. I know down here in the states decades of fire suppression have led to some epic fires. Live and learn I guess. Sheesh, you amaze me pulling an all nighter for the photographic cause.
