Learn about Italy and its art and culture with licensed Italian tour guide and PhD art historian, me, Anna Piperato. Please check out my website at sienaitalytours.com too! Grazie mille!
Thanks for posting this, Anna! We came to Italy in October and wanted to tour with you, but you didn't know your teaching schedule and couldn't commit. We got the grand tour of Siena, and it is such a unique place. If we get back to Italy, I'll try again to connect with you. Happy New Year!
Really interesting video! Loved to see the images from San Miniato Al Monte, which I had the pleasure to visit. Can you link to those two books you show on the beginning, about the haigiography?
A little late in watching this but it was Excellent, and thanks for this unique view. The narrow walkway contrasts with the much wider one in Lucca. Terrific editing. Hope you are well and now able to get out on proper tours!
Grazie, Alicia! Yes, I've been doing more on facebook than on RU-vid lately. Please subscribe to my facebook page at facebook.com/sienaitalytours ☺️ I hope you are safe and doing well in Texas <3
Grazie mille, Fiona! Thank you for watching! I'll be doing some more live-streaming on facebook soon, so if you can, please 'like' my page! facebook.com/sienaitalytours
Ciao! Yes, the masks are one-use only. And YES, the cathedral is beyond magnificent. Consecrated 1179, the façade was made in the 1290s with additions in the 14th c and decorations continuing even through the 20th c (the Door of Forgiveness, for example).
If you are interested, please 'like' my facebook page because I will be offering some online classes soon! Hope to do another live fb video too! facebook.com/SienaItalyTours/
SienaItalyTours I will be on a tour (Trafalgar) but was thinking I could ditch them and hire you if you were not already booked unfortunately I don’t think this will be happening until oct 2021
I live in central Florida, right by the beach, and I haven't seen anybody not putting the mask over their nose. Definitely must be an Italian thing! Siena is so beautiful and I love that cathedral. Italy is on my bucket list!
It's very odd! But hoping everyone will start getting used to wearing masks properly, and that we can also remember that when the mask is on, it must stay all the way on (none of this touching-it-to-lower-then-raise-again business!!). How lovely that you are by the beach! I hope people are being good about their social distancing where you are too!
So, all these videos are very informative as well as really really clever (the 2 Annas are great, hoping to see more of them). I'm really happy you're able to go out for walks now with warmer weather coming. And hoping other restrictions will ease over there with due care for health. Here in the USA, it's a grab bag of oks and not oks (to do), with each state doing "its own thing" regarding rules. So, we'll see how that goes. But very glad your numbers in Italy seem to be flattening and hoping that continues. Maybe there's still time later this year to take small groups on tours.
