Should we buy an ORCA card upon arrival at the Light Rail Station? (Rather than just get a one-way ticket?) We won't have our car while we're visiting and we'll be going to a Mariners game one day and into downtown another. Better value? Thanks!
We're coming to Seattle the week of July 4th. Our hotel is near the University of Washington. Since our flight arrives at 8:00 p.m., I assume it will be 9:30 or so before we get to our hotel. Is that area of town okay for walking at night? (It's a short walk to our hotel). What would a taxi cost if light rail trains are behind? I saw another video of yours saying Light Rail wasn't as safe as it used to be....We can't avoid riding at night. Thank you!
It’s probably depending on how fast you walk. Can be at least 20 minutes. I would take a quick on Uber from the station. Won’t cost much. If you arrive during the day and dont have many luggage’s and not raining. It is quite a nice walk
Flown to airports all over the world Sea Tac twice now. Worst experience both times. Under construction. Absolutely no help for handicap. Helped an elderly man locate a restroom after he urinated himself. No sitting or standing room for early arrivals. I'm guessing Seattle wanted everyone to have that full homeless experience. The airport is modeled after Seattle.
Ohh, so you bought 2 metro cards, 1 upon getting off the airtrain at $8 + $1 , and another one card you buy with unlimited ride $34 +$1 .. hmmm, we can use the first card and continue top up $$ to continue the journey going to lower manhattan right? No need to buy 2 cards? ..and not sure why they dont have an option to buy Unlimited ride Card there and we use this one to pay for the airtrain ?? 😊
At the ticket kiosk, I suggest buying an ORCA fare card which will allow you to also transfer to the bus and is good for approximately 2 hours travel. You can keep it for future trips and as a memento of your time in Seattle.

Lived there for about 5 years or so. It is an beautiful little town with some of the best views I have ever seen from the top of the mountain behind the town. I used to wait until the sun would set into the sea and then start running down the hiking trail from the top of the mountain back to the town. I would hit the highway above the town just as it got too dark to see the trail.
@@ccmarcum The 59 trolleybus does not go to the city center. Take trolleybus 59 to station called Nadrazi Veleslavin and then you would get off and get on the subway that's also called Nadrazi Veleslavin. It's a green line. U just make sure to keep your ticket incase the train police come and request to show them your ticket. If you have orca card, then you need to tap it before you enter the train
