There is only one thing we love more than eating food with chopsticks.......and that's photography. We eat photography, breathe photography, and live all things photography. We are The Chopstick Guys. We love to teach people photographyas much as we love learning photography ourselves! Some of our videos are how to lessons and some are just straight up tips and tricks!

Our videos may be just a little bit crazy but we know you will learn something everytime. We offer Photography tips, tricks solid information and a good dose of fun.

Both the 24” umbrella, and 40” , produced beautiful, soft light , off axis. It’s subjective to say which is “ better “ . The 40” softer, a little flatter, the 24 , a bit edgier , more contrast, but both are awesome 😎👍🏻

Beautiful images and a great tutorial. I'm loving the skin tones as well. What happens to high speed syncs in bust mode?

Hey guys, thanks for the kind comments. I really enjoyed this workshop. Having never photographed models/ballerinas, there is a steep learning curve and a lot more to learn. This was super fun to shoot them in a landscape setting. It was challenging to be sure, but got a little more comfortable after a couple of hours. But like you said... that light for the last 20 odd minutes was awesome!

So the Santa was 20ft in front of him and the building was 20 ft behind him and he reflected a speed light meaning that light had to travel 60 feet? It was pitch black or Bob was exaggerating.

I'm a grizzled commercial vet....strips are part of the required lighting tool-age. FYI: In "the old days", we would just mask the front of a conventional soft box, creating a narrow slit of light. But my two Godox 14"x64" strips offer TONS of utility....from product to portrait, in studio and on-location.* (I try NOT to have to break them down/reassemble- because my pair are a pain in the ass). Highly recommended mods....

I'm just about to make one of these but thought I'd try a garden irrigation system. It has adjustable nozzles so in theory you could also create mist or fog. You have a good system there but I think the water droplets are too big and uniform and the flash freezes the action. It looks a little like the beaded curtains you use to keep the flies out in a doorway! Are your holes adjustable? Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking it!

Very iinformative. As someone who shoots a lot of cars may I suggest having the headlights or at least running lights on, as it gives the vehicle nicer form.

Well, unfortunately didn’t use any strobes. Just one reflector. The light was bloody awful, too crowded and a nervous model. Maybe I can talk her into a studio shoot. Plus, it was hotter than blazes. I posted a shot on the Westcott group anyway 😊

I've never had an issue with a Godox trigger. Seems like the Wescott stuff is pretty unreliable.

Nice try, I've been running the largest workshop company in California for 15 years. I have seen a whole lot of godox triggers go in the trash over the years, more than any other brand. We've traveled the world with Westcott gear, why, because it just works and we make our gear work hard...
