Liked the T55 which came with a weight/clamp that had a strobe on it and the controls were on the top plate. Was among the more affordable suspended tts back then.
Great video i have 2 of those players and they are more better than CD player everything proven them disc don't get scratche up that easy like CD disc does everything proven that thing on the right it what keeps it from getting damage
Great job my dude. Looking good. I got some old RS4 with the double stacked woofers, dome mid and emit tweeter. If you ever get a chance to compare them to something modern I'd love to hear about it! I think these old things rock. But I've never had a new speaker system either lol. The newest speakers I've ever had were 90s Klipsch kg3.5 I think not even close.
I have a pair of RSIIIb (similar to your RS4 but with the 10" stacked woofers) that are due for a refoam. Will try to get those up and running soon. With regards to the advantages of new speakers vs the Infinities I'd say they're not necessarily related to the quality of any individual driver or their frequency response (the drivers in the Infinities are very difficult to beat for the price), but more on the imaging capabilities. If you ever get a chance to try Vandersteens or Thiels, which are time- and phase-aligned, you may be surprised at how they project instruments with pinpoint accuracy into 3D space. Those advancements required new cross-over designs and cabinet manufacturing techniques, rather than driver improvements.
absolutely! 70s Marantz stuff is usually gorgeous and this is no exception. But, just like most cassette decks this vintage, unfortunately this one needs some work.
