Awesome vid. Haveyou ever tried for st3 songs that have no backing track to have photon 2 listen to the band main mix and work on the fly as it detects beats and muaic? Would this be any good?
@@leifpearson5205 thank you! Photon is like any other lighting controller, there’s no “auto” preset. You’ll need to create scenes and activate them somehow, with midi note from a sequencer, like st3, or another hardware controller or your iPad screen. The only “auto” feature is if you have a chase scene, the mic on the iPad can be used to detect the tempo and adjust the speed of the chase accordingly. When I provide sound and lights for another artist/band I use a hardware controller to control the lights. ST3 without a backtrack will be able to activate scenes if you specify length and insert midi commands at certain time stamps. So in other words, photon is a manual app, nothing automatic, nothing gets detected, only tempo for a chase scene. Hope this helps you understand better 😊🙏
Thank you. Great information. I was going to go ForScore, but this seems to do it all. It sure has a learning curve though. Your video will give me a great start. I was drawn in about your own tracks. That is exactly what I will doing on my Korg PA4X and playing live with my Nord 6D. Your tracks and vocals are great too!
Hello my friend congratulations on the excelente work, im using Vibrio Dmx and im having a trouble because when launching the songs thru Stagetraxx 3 vibrio stays on the background and loses midi connection with stagetraxx, do you have same problem with Photon? Thanks
Hi and thank you for watching, I dont know Vibrio, Photon can run in background, You'll need to press the LIVE button and it'll run in background. I have watched Vibrio videos and still can't find a vid on that yet
Hi. I am running a similar setup. But I am finding that Photon becomes unresponsive every once in a while. Have you experienced this? Is so, how did you overcome it? Thanks.
Hi, not on my end. Photon does crash sometimes especially if there’s some audio problem. Turn off the mic access in settings (iPad settings - photon) it should help a little. I had been using this setup to program the lights, left it running all night, came back in the morning for more programming and everything is fine
How awesome! Thank you so much for your tutorial. I have not done gigs for many years and now that things are all digital - I am learning what I need to get to get back into it again. Most helpful Thank you
It is obvious you have a great passion for your work I was doing backing tracks with midi 30 years ago I worked as a live keyboard player singer for Thomsons gold hotels 15 years they were always taking the piss about the size of your repertoire it’s a dog with different fleas the quality is always better than the quantity stop the agents bullshiting and pinching the coin then you can put more acts on
The one main issue I been having is not able to cross fade the next dance song when the dance floor is packed with people. I have to wait till the song completely ends before I can start the next song. People start leaving the dance floor because of the gap ☹️ Is there a way I can manually trigger the next song as I see the current song is about to end? Thanks for any response Ron E
I just found Stage Trax and have started playing with it. You have helped me a lot!! How do you output into your stage sound system? Bluetooth or wires?? Larry
Hi Larry thank you for watching 🙏 At the time I made this vid I was still using a cable from the headphones output of the iPad. Currently going out with USB audio into my Helix and from there to PA.
I’ve been using Stage Traxx for several years and find it very useful. I learned a few things about it that I didn’t know so it’s even more useful now. Thank you.
Well done! I’m getting into backing tracks from karaoke-version and using them to fatten up a 3 piece band sound and this app appears to be a great fit. Your help is indispensable to someone learning all this stuff at once. Thanks!
So, how can edit this if I'm not using the 4 cable method live? I only run the pod throuth the effects loop. I want to edit what I made years ago but 2 of my knobs for editing on the pedal are bugged so I am unable too. I'm hoping I can find a work around I'm going to plug it into my computer now
Why add another piece of gear when the Helix is perfectly capable of doing what I need? I have three mixers, one small enough but why need for carrying more gear and cables etc? 🤷♂️
@@sheronmusician well since in australia they cost $3000 - no. i'll can buy a flow 8, small effects back up, another mic, another PA speaker, and even another guitar ;)
