For the rest of Virginia, we would gladly give NOVA to DC if it becomes a state. The DC blight has spread southward all of the way to The Peoples Republic Of Charlottesville.
Get real, Arlington, Va is an outrageously expensive place to live. The first con that trumps all is that you need a minimum salary close to 100k to afford a nice 1br apt (with modest personal debt). If you dream of owning a house, your salary needs to be 200-300k. A two-bedroom house in that area is close to 500k.
Hi I just found your channel. I just graduated from law school and now working in DC. I'm trying to find a place to rent alone but I have a car. I'm from Southern VA but love NoVA better than MD and I honestly don't like DC especially having to take public transit everywhere if I were to move there. I need help finding a decent place to rent on my own in the DMV area. I notice you mention more about houses which I will be looking into once I pass the bar and land that big time job but any suggestions for us single renters that want to be in a safe year somewhat affordable area in this region?
Hi, N.VA is mostly safe everywhere. I'd pick a place to live as close to your work/school. You won't go wrong with any place within walking distance to the metro.
We are planning to move to Virginia. I am so happy I found your video is really helpful I appreciate. I have a question if you have high school diploma is it easy to find a job. Where can you recommend me to start looking a job we are a family of 2kids under 5years
I'd love to help, but i am not sure which field you are looking the job at. Overall unemployment is low. I am sure you won't any issues finding a new job here.
One notable pro that you guys missed was the history that NOVA, DC and MD have to offer. From Washingtons Mt. Vernon and the GW Parkway to all of DCs monuments and memorials. Smithsonian Institution’s museums and the ability to sit in on a session of Congress. Old Town Alexandria and Arlington National Cemetary. National Harbor and the fishing communities on the Chesapeake Bay. And lets not forget the fresh seafood wherever you go.

Hello, You can't go wrong pretty much anywhere in Fairfax/ Loudoun or Arlington counties. Everything depends on your budget. The closest cities to MD are Mclean, Vienna, Great Falls, and Arlington. You will be further down to MD if you move to Fairfax, Oakton, Reston, or Ashburn. What is your comfortable budget so I can guide you further?

Very helpful video . Moving from Texas and we definitely feel the housing cost as we are leaving a beautiful home for one that’s much older and on a much smaller lot. We agree these sacrifices will at least give our children several amenities that they wouldn’t have here (walking to a park, a lake , boating and great school). It’s hard to give up something beautiful but sometimes it’s give or take . Also my husband will be taking a bus so his truck is now almost useless 😬😬. We have joked recently that we are paying for your beautiful trees and green grass as our area was hit hard with a drought this year.
Arlington VA. is a bit expensive, but an awesome place to live and relocate, with direct and immediate access by Metro Subway Transit and Bus transportation into Washington DC., where Historical, Cultural, and Naturally syndicated attributes reside.
I don't know about vehicle necessity. I live in Fairfax City and worked on Tyson Corner for over 1 year. Didn't buy car. If I wanted to go to Washington DC, I would just walk 20 minutes and take the Orange Line
Arlington is not a city, it is a county without a city. Alexandria is a city without a county. It use to be Alexandria City in Alexandria County, but they separated ways. Alexandria County changed their name to Arlington to avoid confusion. Third grade local history research for several years.
