I was 2️⃣ years old in 2005 but i wish i was there cause i would sing every song word for word thanks to my older sister who raised me on The Beach Boys from a baby
As Brian is now, by all accounts no longer able to be musically present we can truly see this gift of revival of Brian Wilson concert as a watershed moment. After decades of various mental challenges Brian found his muse once again in his backing band, The Wondermints. If only for a period of about ten years total we have the proper glimpse of the genius of Brian's music performed once again with precision and accuracy. Sure, Brian isn't able to reclaim his once amazing vocal range - though with the sympathetic and amazing support of this band, and in front of this no less amazing miracle "one-off" sea of humanity, it's once again the sixties with the full power of the songs connecting with a vast sea of humanity gloriously. This is like a gift from above we can all share a piece of. Though, not to my knowledge, ever released on any medium commercially this performance is so spectacular in power that it, to me at least, eclipses the 50th anniversary Beach Boys concerts. There is a palpable, beyond comprehension, connection to this performance and the vast audience present here. I'm, as my Brit brothers and sisters say, gobsmacked. This is a performance and event for the ages and is right up there with Concert for George and The Band's Last Waltz. Please BBC make a pristine version available for all of us to bask in. Yes, I'm passionate about this and want others to share in what is like a gift from above.
É absurdamente incrível como eles chegavam no ponto certo das músicas..pois os ensaios pareciam levar para um outro caminho. Fabulosos, fantásticos minha total admiração também por George Martin.
Hello! Thank you for sharing this! I'm currently trying to get permission to use this material in a documentary feature. Was wondering if you have any insights on where this material originally aired and who might own it? Much appreciated!
My eldest brothers were the original (as in, the first) surfers in Sonoma County, CA. We had on the old Heathkit stereo literally every Beach Boys album as they came up. Born in 1954, literally grew up on the Beach Boys. They performed (drunk!) in Santa Rosa in probably 1964. Me eldest bro was probably first in line to get into the brief concert. ❤
Along with George Martin and the sound engineers they basically invented modern rock and pop recording by just hacking away at it in the studio and trying everything until they found out what works and why. We are the beneficiaries of their finished product but it's fascinating to see and hear these behind the scenes and get a sense of how it was all made and went from raw ideas and sounds to polished recording.
I agree if there was a way to do the early days with any studio footage if there is any done like. The get back Peter Jackson’s stuff would be the best ever
Amazing thank you for this I watched some other footage and was questioning whether they were really as amazing as I’d remembered because I was completely blown away on the day! So lucky to have seen the classic line-up all together.
It would be absolutely great if some previously undiscovered film footage of the Beatles working on Revolver and Sgt. Pepper came to light. Imagine being a fly on the wall during all the sessions for those albums?
