Good job! But I'd say it isn't the best way to travel. As foreigner driver you probably had somtimes real fear and also to fight the envy to sleep. Even if you choosed autumn (less people on the roads) I am sure you got quiet happy to reach the end.
Very nice 4 room flat. But I'm confused or might have missed it, doesn't 4 room flats come with 3 rooms? During your tour, only 2 rooms were seen, what happen to the 3rd room? Or was it knocked down? The man cave is sick, but do you use the computer standing? Don't see any chairs. And just to point out for fun, you seem to have tons of gigabyte motherboards 😂
You are right to point out that one of the bedroom is excluded from the documentary as there is no significant renovation done to it. We have knocked down 1 bedroom where the man cave is. Thanks! We interchange the usage of dining chairs as the computer desk. Thank you and glad ya have enjoyed our home showcase.
@@adamamirul1249 ic, ebikes are permitted on roads but not on footpaths and park connectors. I recommend reading the authorities website for more details as there are many other ebike rules such as speed limit, mandatory registration and LTA approved models. onemotoring.lta.gov.sg/content/onemotoring/home/buying/vehicle-types-and-registrations/PAB.html
Hi, I do not have a route for that. For Changi Airport, ya are allowed to cycle via Park Connectors from T4 Hub and Spoke to Tanah Merah Coastal Rd (TMCR). The road from Changi Airport leads you to the expressway and no cycling is allowed on any expressways.
Hi, I recalled the motorway toll fees are generally fine. Carpark charges at big cities such as Paris are expensive but not as expensive as some other countries from my experience. The key for road trips is to explore outside of cities and that's where parking is much cheaper and more options to avoid toll roads. I recommend doing some homework via Parkopedia, Calculator Tollsmart and plein-moins-cher (gas stations) websites to plan your journey and cost of road trip. All the best!
Hi, cyclists are allowed to cycle on the Malaysia highway as long as there is no signage of no cycling allowed (eg: PLUS Toll Hwy, Pasir Gudang Hwy, Johor-SG 2nd Link Hwy (E3), Desaru Hwy (E22)). As compared to SG, cycling at all expressways and tunnels are not allowed. Ya might wanna checkout the other cycling rules in Malaysia. (Eg: Single file cycling) www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=themalaysianlawyer.com/2023/06/01/10-laws-for-malaysian-cyclists/&ved=2ahUKEwjs4K7w1uWBAxWoyDgGHcXSBy8QFnoECAkQBQ&usg=AOvVaw02ajjPaiTuzbS5pr87W7fD
Your vdo is perfect. We looking at doing the same but worried about driving over there. How did you find driving there? How did the toll work? And was parking hard to find. Thank you
Driving at France has been great especially away from Paris City. I have no issues to pay the toll fee by VISA/Master credit card. Just prepare an extra card incase the other one doesn't work. Ensure to enter the correct lane that shows credit card signage. I do recommend to do some homework on parking garage and alternative ones too. Avoid driving during Summer holidays, big cities like Paris as traffic can be very heavy. Many roads in Paris have been redesigned to be car light. Cycling is a great alternative in the city. Learn the codes for petrol/diesel for petrol kiosk. Learn some French words for carpark such as Open "Ouvert", Closed "Fermée", Full "Plein". Lastly, take note of priority on the right - "La priorite a droite". I would drive in France if I have a chance again. Hope you find these tips useful. Thanks!
all French people should watch your video to have the chance to live in such a beautiful country.; thank you I love to see my country through your eyes...
this kind of design at $80k is definitely worth it! unlike most local paliah BTO renovations are all ugly and almost $80-$120k! have to admit the owner has higher than average design sense. almost a pro.
Thanks for posting this informative vlog! Did you feel like you had enough time to enjoy each place or did you feel rushed? I'm hoping to do the same so I'd love to know your thoughts, thanks!
Thanks for posting your queries too! The trip may look pretty rush to cover a third of France within 14 days with 3400km of driving. My partner and I deliberated on the duration of visit per town/city and planned the road trip meticulously. Some places we feel worth staying longer are Nice and Cannes. Suppose if we have 1-2 more extra days, I would spend it on Strasbourg and checking out of other French Alps. Places for touch-and-go are Nimes, Riquewihr, Colmar. Hope this helps!
@@hugovera5332 @Hugo Vera Hi, I would recommend learning some common french words such as bonjour, bonsoir, etc... It will definitely help in establishing conversation with the french better. English isn't a barrier as many ppl understand English in big cities but less so at the outskirts. I have encountered a young waitress who couldn't understand English and I used my mobile phone Google Translate to bridge the barrier. Google is your best friend. Hope this helps.
wow I have watched many reno videos...and of all I find that this fits my style and personality. I love browns but am so afraid to use it as the main colours cos maybe I will get bored with it. But that kitchen cabinet's colour prove me wrong. The storage areas again is so good an well managed throughout. I am gonna use this as an inspiration. Thank you for sharing!
Your design is amazing. I saw 2 taps at the kitchen basin, may I know 1 is for water, what is the other 1 for ? Is it hot water dispenser ? If yes, can I have the company you buy from ?
Thanks! The smaller tap is our undersink Novita filtration water system. The main Grohe kitchen tap was purchased from Germany during our vacation trip.
Hi Mervyn! Such a nicely edited video of your trip! Looks like you'd an amazing time with your friends and I'm looking forward to my upcoming road trip there as well. May I have your itinerary for reference? :) Thank you
Hi, our renovations cost appropriately 80k SGD and it excludes cost of furnitures, lightings, LEDs, other fittings. However, the Reno cost may have changed in the post covid world due to inflation. I recommend to factor in 10-20%. On top of it.. I also recommend to factor in a buffer budget should it spillover beyond original budget.
Thanks for sharing may I know where did you get your blind? I have similar setup for the sliding door but the pelmet height is limited for the blind, wondering if the blind is about about 80mm height? Thanks!
Hi, we have rented our Outlander car from Thrifty. Our SUV vehicle is a 7 seater car its capacity is somewhat just nice for 5 pax including our baggage. It can be a little bit squeezy at times and our baggage increased to a point where the rear mirror is totally blocked. All the best to your travel plans.
@@MervynChew I see... for my trip it's a group of 4 pax (each bringing a M sized luggage) for 4D3N. So I am trying to search around to see if an Outlander would be able to fit the luggage and passengers fairly comfortably. Don't wanna book an undersized car neither do I want to book an oversized car haha
@@MervynChew Can't seem to comment my email address here, are there any alternative ways that I could pass you my contact or get yours? Thanks so much!
Hi Mervyn! really love this house tour, your house is so wonderfully thought out. May I know which contractor you used for the metal mesh that's hiding your home theatre speakers?
Thank you, I had numerous discussions with our carpenter - Cheong Cheng Reno & Carpenter and used the mesh samples to test and sure acoustics is not lost.
@@geraldinelee4755 I would say it's a collaboration as I have some contractors that we hired on our own and they have some subcontractors. Thankfully most of our contractor works can be done with minimal clashes and dependencies of each tasks are discussed.
@@MervynChew Hi Mervyn, I'm guessing you have subwoofers inside also? As I'm thinking of doing something similar for my feature wall with a subwoofer inside a mesh cabinet. If so may I check if there's since been any issues with the vibrations and if it will vibrate throughout the carpentry haha. And still no acoustic losses thus far?
Mervyn, could you please share why there's a sloping change in height of the beam spanning between the kitchen and living room? (Best seen at 2:52.) Did the flat come like that, or did you enlarge one side to be able to mount the recessed LED lights and AC units comfortably? Thank you for sharing your incredible and ingenious work of art with us!
Hi, the slope at the ceiling beam is created to hide the AC unit pipes. I feel that the slope helps to reduce the illusion or unpleasant feeling of the lowered ceiling beam. The AC for living room is specially allocated for ease of maintenance and avoid the water leaks to the sofa.
@@MervynChew Thank you for the explanation. It's definitely effective at concealing the height of the beam. I've watched this video closely at least 20 times, and this is the first time I'm noticing this. Excellent work, and a good reminder to consider AC piping while designing.
Why don’t you tell us more about your unblocked view of the north-west direction? LMAOOO but honestly, you are a visionary! Your house is so cool and functional
Thanks, I have have added a shelve to allow provide storage of items less frequently used such as extra supplies of detergents. I also hide the water filtration system inside. We have decided this after exploring options of diagonal drawers and expensive turntable style pull out racks.
Thanks! Yeah I don't have major issues with them. Importantly is to be able to ensure both parties understand the design considerations and concerns. Identify execution issues the earliest possible so as to address them early. I feel that is how we managed to collaborate towards the success of this reno project.
Hi Mervyn, really love your hdb design! can you share your files with me too? jiahuipig@hotmail.com. Thank you so much! may I know how much did you spend on the renovation as well?
