Awesome! How is it running today? My mod list is very similar to yours on my 2019 and I am going 1.5 xtr in the spring. 400whp/400lb ft seems like a sweet spot for this car.
@@Lunchbox_motorsports did you do any head work after pulling them? im doing the exact shortblock with the dom 1.5 on my 2018. throwing some arp headstuds and wash/mill the heads
@@JohnnyDiesel88other than cleaning and making sure the lash was good on all the cam buckets, nothing. all looked well. We did do different head studs, yes.
Going from a stock car to this type of build would be around $15k in parts. Then labour would be another $3k to $5k. Safe to say you are looking at $20k to replicate a build like this.
Honestly this looks like the perfect way (for someone like me) to get into track days. Like you I have a 2020 STI but man do they get expensive quickly!
I wish i still had the Civic. One month later someone hit it while it was parked and totaled it, bent frame. Staying stock is really the way to go in a lot of ways. Its still really fun to drive. you just cant brag about your lap times haha. like, my STI is over 20 seconds faster on this same track.
Good stuff man, what whp you looking to put down now with the new motor? Just noticed the Titan wheels also great wheel in my opinion. Glad to see it coming back together for you man.
@@Lunchbox_motorsports Yea man, hopefully you get that 460-480 would love to see that. Will be a great setup for what you are doing with it. Good luck man.
insane dude. nice thing though, i really never felt rushed. the whole time i felt like we moved steadily and just got it done. do it right, do it once.
Running Yokohama A052. I really dont think i'm pushing the car to its limits on turn in. I'm scrubbing off too much speed. The car has so much grip I'm not used to it yet so i'm driving it like last year on RS4's with a less aggressive alignment. I think a more competent driver could take this car as is to a 1:55 or even a high 1:54
@@Lunchbox_motorsports that and I would recommend a bigger fuel set up. I’m running id 1700x with a walbro 450. Forged hybrid pistons on stock sti rods/ACL bearings with stock wrx heads.
I know you answered this question already, but for my own curiosity, what was the elevation level and the duty cycle % of your injectors, do you remember? running an almost identical setup as you, but will either be using an FP Blue, or a BCP X500+. Kicking my self in the nuts for not ordering 1300+ injectors now.
It was about 5k ft elevation and around 80-85% duty I believe. I don't have the full details but I can do a pull and find out what the duty cycle is at on 85. I live at 7k
@@Lunchbox_motorsports awesome thanks man! Any regrets with this turbo, or the 1050's at all? I'm not afraid to push it with me having the TIC Stage 2 block. So finding out what all everyone has had success with. I'm much more concerned with my clutch since it's tq capacity is 472 lb/t
@@Cam_Lotro my stock clutch definitely cannot handle this for launches. I have a new one on order. No regrets on the turbo yet. Love the way it pulls to redline now. We stopped at 400whp and torque because I'm on the stock RA block. But the turbo should have another 40-50whp in it I think
I had this turbo on full kill mode on E85 with head work and all. I recommend going rotated when you get sick of it or the engine goes. Nice build man enjoy.
Hoping to do another once i get the new clutch in, now i have the bigger turbo and am at 400WHP. New turbo is making 130WHP more at redline than before.
@@Lunchbox_motorsports ok, I'll stop by a used dealer or better yet get a rental van, and .meet you there and embarrass that hunk if trash. I have a wrx, was skeptical about getting one but gave it a shot. Needed new short block at 29k. Didn't beat on it and did all required maintence. Yeah, I think I'll not bring it to CO. Because normal driving will probably break it by the time I get there. "Why do you own one then, if you think their junk" idk, ppl like you on RU-vid seem to make a case that in fantasy aka youtube, reality is different. A minivan or u-haul van would walk that sloth.
