One of the biggest crimes in cinematic history is Samuel L. Jackson not winning the Oscar for his perfomance in this film. He went fron a relative unknown to an overnight legend in this film. And without googling, very few can remember who one the Oscar for supporting actor that year.
Did I hear someone talking at the end unaware that they were being recorded? I think the woman said, "One day she's going to do (or be) something wonderful." A true prophesy.

I like to think that these two actually encountered each other later on and got together. They had a lot of chemistry, and Tina was loaded with charisma. R.I.P., Auntie.
I always imagined that, some time down the line, Max and Auntie got together, and actually stayed together till the end. Mel may be nuts, but he and Tina had some good chemistry, in the limited screen time they had together.
Wow. I always thought she was originally a Northampton, Massachusetts local but didn’t know she was a Castro Valley High School graduate. I used to run into her every morning in downtown Northampton when she worked for WRSI The River, before she left for Air America. Later on I got to know who she really was when she hosted Northampton’s Pride Parade and ceremony. Fun times, and it’s nice to see her revisit the city from time to time. Thanks for posting this.
If you listen closely at the end as she is walking away, you can hear someone saying that "she is going to do something with her life...she's going to make a difference". Of course I paraphrased the comment, but it was so prescient.
