I drove into TR from Greenville with my family yesterday and it was a bit shady and wouldn’t want to do that drive at night alone. I hope there are other ways to get in and out into downtown Greenville.
The most informative and comprehensive presentation on Greenville area I have seen yet! We were there last year and loved the Swamp Rabbit Trail. We bike and walk and want proximity to Greenville and Costco but want a little land and privacy so would look in Travelers Rest and even Landrum, Greer. We will be down for 10 days in May and will reach out! Thank you!
I live in Broward county Florida. It is one development after another development with canals criss crossing the area to keep flooding away. Green space is gone and the cost of living is too high. South Florida lost it's charm a long time ago. You have tons of green space in the Greenville metro area and the bible belt southern charm is better than liberal irritating NYers. I'm just looking what the two areas will be like in 25 years. Greenville is a solid bet. Florida is a bad bet.
I'm retiring to the Greenville area before hurricane season gets in to full swing. Where I live now in southern coastal Florida, is best described as a "Concrete Jungle" and that's not far from the truth.

I'm considering a 3bed/3ba Townhouse in Travelers Rest rest in the next 6-9 months. I'm very impressed with rural vibe it gives off and yet so close to Greenville.
While Travelers Rest has many pros, Travelers Rest is often touted as being a great small town with a small-town vibe, but there is simply no way the downtown section of TR can truly have a small-town vibe with a busy, noisy, four-lane road going through the middle of it. Not to mention an obvious lack of trees planted all along the roadway. I am unsure why this is not super obvious to the town planners and the realtors touting Travelers Rest as some kind of idyllic small town. Makes no sense. Instead, be honest about it and fix the problem. It could be a great small-town community if the town did address this very obvious noise/traffic issue and made Travelers Rest more walkable and less vehicular friendly.

I fell in love with Greenville after a two day trip to the area. We went to the BMW Performance Track and drove a car I ordered from Germany. I think that was my fifth BMW. We now each have new beemers and are hoping to move to the area in 2024 from Michigan! I’d love to live IN a Greenville as we are in our mid 60’s, childless and really only absolute is we need a two car garage and 2500 square feet of living space. Can’t wait to break free from the Midwest!
It's a great place for retired people. But doesn't have big businesses like in Chicago to get good jobs .only family local small businesses. And doesn't have a variety of grocery supermarkets or restaurants, and has only Two dentists for the entire TR!
this is where the magistrates hold ex parte communications with litigants and find out who their friends are find out where they can get their money from Justice in South Carolina has to be bought and paid for it's not a matter of right and wrong even though there's a church on every corner nobody reads their Bibles all they do is they go in there have a good time pretend they memorize something and they pair parrot everything the preacher says
Nice video. We will be visiting soon and I am counting the days. We will reach out to you about the communities you mentioned. We would like more rural so hopefully that’s an option in Simpsonville, Taylors, Greer or TR.
Would love to help you and looking forward to hearing from you! You can reach out to me when you are ready by my email meredithrigdon@gmail.com. Let's make your rural dream come true!
My son moved to Simpsonville 3 yrs ago. He now lives in Fountain Inn. My wife and I are seriously considering moving there from Richmond Va. when we retire in a few more years. We’ve fallen in love with the Greenville and surrounding area. Beautiful place, friendly people, lots of activities, and of course…Family❤
Nothing but Damn Yankeeville now and over crowded and you can't even get your kid to school on time because the China traffic!!! Schools are even over crowded totally Ridiculous!!! And No honey, the Yankees have discovered travelers rest SC because they have screwed up Thier states and now flooding here to destroy ours and it's greedy realty people like you that destroy small towns because of your little RU-vid and rainbow 🌈 liberal video!!!!
Can you compare this area to south east Florida ? I have an opportunity for a $310k new constr home there, and $250k town home in TR and even larger SFR $280k in Boiling Springs... helpppp
You'll certainly get more bang for your buck in in Boiling Springs but if you are looking for proximity to downtown Greenville Boiling Springs won't be what you're looking for. I live 4 min from down town TR and 11 min from Downtown Greenville and absolutely love it. Home prices are still reasonable compared to national home prices and TR offers a beautiful almost Mayberry vibe with incredible restaurants and minutes drive to Greenville and anything you could ever want to do.
We are from SW Florida and I can tell you that the temps are killing us down there. The first 4 years wasn't bad in the mornings and evenings, but it's terrible now. Even our winters are not very long and at times too hot. Just say'n
I have lived in Simpsonville, SC for the past 25 years. The downtown area has really grown tremendously in the past couple of years and it's no longer necessary to drive to Greenville in order to have a good meal or find entertainment. Just a short distance from downtown off of Fairview Rd. is one of the best restaurants anywhere in the upstate area- Stella's Southern Bistro.
