You are into a very awesome and rare hobby, especially for someone in California, I love pouring over books on military weapons, vehicles, and equipment. You have a great collection of militaria going on there! My dad got me into this stuff years ago, used to build black powder rifle kits, I took it up a step further by getting a C&R. Very cool info in your video here
You are reloading a round that is very rare for someone to do. Thats very cool that someone actually reloads for the converted Chassepot rifles. My question is if you are using black powder in these rounds or maybe pyrodex?
Skip ahead to 3:36 1: Open SME Spot Shot 2: Connect to the Spot Shot WiFi 3: Edit the WiFi settings on your phone swapping between random MAC and device MAC, connect to the wifi again 4: Open SME Spot Shot and the camera should connect now I got it working on my pixel 7, could not reproduce the results on an iPad. Thank you!
@@selleckg1 I stumbled onto a forum about the gras and a guy had placed an order at Lee for a certain number to be made. He sold off the others and kept one for himself. I was lucky that he still had a couple. That was a few years ago. I've recently seen gras dies on eBay so you should look there.
@@bingus516 I will assume you have a vintage 8x30. I would say it's dirty.....? How long have you had it, and working before ? The screw at the front between the ( objective) lenses will need to be removed. It should have numbers on a disc.
Try stretching the main spring because some one very likely locked the bolt Is cocking So it doesn't have the power necessary to dimple the primer. And cause it to go off So disassemble the bolt and stretch the Spring. And then maybe it'll hit with enough power to make it go off Good luck beginner You can do it essay
Hi. Thank you for responding so quickly and with a Fantastic video with clear explanation and detailed close-ups. Thank you for disassembling your SUIT sight LED source . Above and beyond with something so rare and fragile ! As you say, exporting tritium probably falls foul of ITAR or HAZMAT regulations. Some guys here have re-animated their dead units with light sources out of fishing floats or Chinese stuff on Ebay. I’ll check with some FAL guys here to see if they have receiver cuts for the tabs on the inch L1A1 / SUIT dust cover . I appreciate your close-ups so that I know exactly what to look for. I appreciate all that you are doing to keep this old stuff working with your detailed and Professional videos. If I find any sources of SUIT parts here in the U.K. I’ll send you some links. Once again thank you. Kind regards Steve
Hi . I just found your very useful video on the British SUIT sight. I’m trying to track down information, spares and mods for this scope. i have a few questions if you don’t mind ? - Do you plan a build video for making the LED conversion ? I understand the principle but would greatly appreciate a HOW TO video with dimensions , battery and LED numbers and what parts have to be fabricated. Tritium sight elements in the U.K. are either rare or dead. - Could you expand on the fitment of the scope mount between L1A1 (British inch) and Metric FAL ? You mention that the DS Arms one seems to fit either. I am told that the original SUIT mount had “tags” at the back of the dust cover that had to be cut off to fit the Metric FAL Could you look into this ? A tough call to mod an original mount which costs £250 here 😮 Your videos are excellent and I have liked and subscribed. All the best. Steve U.K.
Decades ago I had a Turkish 98 Mauser action. I had McGowan barrels install a 250 Savage barrel on it. It an ideal cartridge for the smaller action. I didn’t damage any crests with the scope mounts. The gun shot extremely well
❤ Hello!! Thankyou taking the time to make the video. Can you please tell me where you got or purchase the shuttle Carrier gears (link please) I have a 29-4 with shuttle carrier gears that are cracked..
Shuttle Carrier Following Pinion # 82180 For Singer 29K Sewing Machine if you paste this on ebay... $10. There are two different sizes for look for the one you need. Ebay has a lot of parts.
Yes. I wanted the 2nd volume but I was able to see it and realized I didn't need it. It's nice also but it could justify buying it. I'm saving up for the Franco Prussian book set.
That is really cool sir! I agree I think that is a Mexican bandolier. I was super excited to finally see an example in real life! I have searched and never seen one “in the flesh” as it were. I have many books about the revolution with photographs but I’ve never seen an extant example, I am a leatherworker as well and have made a couple of Mexican bandoliers based off of original photos. I’d love to know where and how you acquired it. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Sir, Thank you so much for simplifying this process. I had my car/bike horns attached for several weeks trying to figure this out. Now thanks to your video they are operating. You get a RU-vid Gold Star ⭐️
Nice very simple instruction sir ❤️ my question is, is it possible to connect as well a 12v motorcycle headlight to the powersource while the horn is connected as well? thanks!
Yes very much so. The trick is to get a large enough battery ah. I have a lithium battery kastar 12.8 6ah lifepo4 batter and charger. With it I can use a headlight ( off road vehicle flood light) as a horn I have DEI 514N siren and I also led lights. I have not put them on my bike but it's set up ready to put on. I think the siren is louder then the car horn.
Thanks, mine is the small ring. I was told it is verry hard to find them. By the way I bought this one for so cheep it would make you sick. Under 100.00.
@schutztruppe it has the Cresent moon with a star above with T C with star between .ANK left of MOON ARA Right of moon under the moon is 1939 on the end of barrel said made in Turkey and cal st alb VT 8mm
@@schutztruppe also the rifle was duffle bag cut. So I have the action barrel and buttock. The fellow I got it from did not have the sling the barrel rings or front part of the stock. No rust it was clean. And the barrel rifling is like a mirror. Checked head spacing it is good. So it will be turned in to a hunting rifle . Bolt will be cut of and a new turned down tig welded on. Sights removed polished and blued. Clip hump milled off drilled and taped for scope rings. And a Pope recess crown on barrel. I think it will be a good shooter. Most of them will do a good three shot group. Then start walking the bullet. Barrel gets hot. After cooling down it will do three more in tight group. Have fun I am.
I have a 8mm mauser, Turkish on a small ring action. It has the slot cut in the ring so the longer bullet will go in the magazine. Is that one a small ring action. Mine is.
I have one of these guys in my collection all be it unfortunately cut-down and missing the hooked quillon. Wonders if there's anybody out there skilled in restoring the quillon
Yes, they are exactly like yours so I imagine they're from the 60s. I tried punching in the numbers from the front of them and nothing's really coming up confusing.
I use Google. Duckduckgo and what ever other search engine I can find. I took me a while to figure it out. Jason is another brand that used these. Other times they have been referred to as " fast focus" or "insta focus". Bushnell didn't make them. It's a Japanese optics company so at times the same product was sold to others under a different name.
Hello I just acquired A set of these binoculars today though mayan are 10 by 50. Millimeter was wondering how I can look them up. They look exactly like The pair you are showing in the video but are extremely bigger
all I did was look up the brand and the 7x35. In your case , the brand and 10x50. Took me a while to find pictures of mine but eventually I found an ad for them.
Is this top cover also compatible with metric FAL's? I'm lucky to have bought a top cover from the UK for $340. With the scope I'm ready to some target shooting or even hunting.
I would assume yes because I bought a dust cover with stripper clip rails and it was being sold as metric but mine is an inch pattern. It fits perfect. I have a video where I mention it. non detachable magazine is the title.
