instead of tapping the already installed weld nuts, can't you just get the correct threaded bolts?

Also, can you do this by removing the pin while the bracket is still attached to the door? If so, this would eliminate the problem of not getting the bracket back in exactly the right position since it would remain attached. Or would it not be possible to line the new roller up well enough with the bracket to reattach it with the pin?

I wonder if Waterlox (a varnish made with Tung Oil) would be a better choice. I finished a solid Teak shower stool in 4 coats of Tung Oil, then Waterlox because of the extremely wet location. It still looks beautiful and like when I finished it 3 years or so ago. I’m thinking of combining Tung Oil with oil stain after applying a pre-stain sealer on a fireplace mantel. Any thoughts on that?

As a widow this was wonderful. The only hard part is putting the cable back in. We discovered that the instructions should include using baby vice grips to pull the cable to get enough slack to insert the small cylinder. We really struggled for at least 30 minutes before we figured this out

How do you determine the length of the slow air chamber (SAC)? I’ve seen in a number of NA style flutes where the length of this chamber is at least 5 inches going to up 8 inches in many designs. You seemed to have chosen 2-3 inches, is this a standard for PVC flutes?

Just wondering what you did specifically to turn them into manual doors again? After disconnecting cables did you remove them or just cut them off?

Heu mate, im having problems in my series 3, too. It looked like it had water running through the probe cabe and rusted the connections. The probe works but doesnt read the temperature properly. What was the problem with your probe?

By the way, you can order the electric door roller part for an Odyssey with a manual door. It's a lower priced part and it works perfectly well. It has a couple of loops to accommodate the motor cable, but they are just ignored for the manual door.

The guy makes it look easy What he don't tell you is those two little screws that hold the probe in if they've been in for a while they could be rusted or stubborn and there are tiny it could make for a job.

bolts would be more secure if you didnt tap the holes
@BuildStuffwithAJ
@BuildStuffwithAJ 3 месяца назад
Ill have to disagree with you on that one. If its too rusted, like it was in my case you can have the bolt break off while trying to tighten it down if you put too much tension on it. In my opinion its a lot better to tap the hole and not risk the bolt breaking off because that will cause a much bigger headache.

Question???? Instead of splicing the old ground with the new one to make it longer, why don't you just unscrew on of the black screws holding the black box on and put the ground wire there?
@bodinian

For the hole, I just took the plunge and rented a hammer drill with a 4" coring bit from Home Depot. It did the job well, especially since I had a deeper wall to drill through.

I'm not sure if you check messages anymore, but what what did you use for the stem? Oak like the bowl? And did you soak the wood before clamping? Thanks
@BuildStuffwithAJ
@BuildStuffwithAJ 4 месяца назад
Yes I used oak for the stem as well, I didn't soak it before clamping it or anything. It would defiantly help if your worried about the wood cracking. But I used thin pieces of wood for this on because they would bend with out breaking too easily

I wish I had watched this earlier. I just finished disassembling and replacing the guts of my Pitt Boss Copperhead. The control panel, the heat element, and probes. After I was finished I noticed and extra part in the new box of guts. Hmmm? What's this? It was the thermostat. It would have been so much easier to replace when I had the smoker on it's side and dissembled. I am hoping the old one will still work after polishing it up because there ain't no way this 73 year old weakling woman is going to do that job again lol.

The only issue is that I see is the 45 degree angle handle. It will make you bend over more when prying. Perhaps, a 22.5 or 15 degree angle would be more suitable, if you really want an angle on your “pallet buster”. 🤷‍♂️

How did you know the temp probe was the cause of your erl code? As soon as I turn my unit on, it gives me the ERL code, and won't let me do anything.
@BuildStuffwithAJ
@BuildStuffwithAJ 4 месяца назад
To be honest, I called the pit boss help line and they told me it was either the temp probe or the control unit, They sent me both since it was still under warranty, but they arrived about a week apart so I ended up making two different videos for it. So moral of the story is, be prepared to buy both because apparently they don't even know how to tell which on is the problem lol
@billhill5181
@billhill5181 4 месяца назад
That's funny, because I had replaced the main control unit already, so they sent me the temp probe, and that ended up being the fix. Mine was years out of warranty as well BTW. So props to Pit Boss for still taking care of me.
