welcome to ‘it’s that deep’, a weekly debrief between you and I where we unpack some of the week’s biggest stories in pop culture, politics and society, trying (heavy on the trying) to make sense of their deeper meaning and what they tell us about who we really are.
On the AI image, what we're missing is that people on the ground have been pleading with the West to share their images & videos because Israel is doing everything they can do wipeout the coverage of what's going. Instead of using fake images, we need to honour the victims and share the reality, not just a cute image that makes us feel good
Just perpetuates the attitude of; its okay to be racist to someone as long as they don't agree with you. And I'm glad that other people of colour agree and are calling it out.
@@FeyisaraO. It definitely is herd mentality, but I'd be pretty offended if someone called me a coconut. Your identity/skin colour should never be taken away from you or used against you.
Counter argument, the tories adopted Blairite policy and ideas and starmer is a follower of such. Also tories have been more left wing than leftists want to believe, as them not being right wing ruins the fantasy of, "fighting Counter revolutionarys".
A lot of young men are violent towards women and femicide is a major problem in Britain? Maybe in the Middle East and Subcontinent but not here it isn’t. The vast majority of men will go through life never hurting a woman.
Comparatively of course not but femicide is only the furthest extent Physical and and non-physical violence against women is becoming more common even if it doesn’t result in death
@@FeyisaraO. Over what timespan is it becoming more common? It’s certainly not as common as 40/50 years ago+. There was a spike over Covid for lockdown but since the early 1990s, it’s reduced by 70%. It’s the 3rd world and Islamic countries where women are being harmed in great numbers.
@@matthewmckellar698 I ain’t a royalist and right or wrong, there’s still plenty of places with no monarchy she could go and live. But it just so happens Britain isn’t one of them.
@@odavies5219 and yet that doesn’t make her wrong. We live in a country where we subsidise a family of questionable morals and behaviour we didn’t choose to act as our head of state. But according to you we have to accept a status quo, and cant question things or and if we do we are told to move elsewhere? (Or are you saying that because of another reason?)
@@matthewmckellar698 According to me? I said no such thing. You did. I simply said there was plenty of other places to live already with no monarchy. Don’t say I said something that I didn’t. I also didn’t say she was wrong. I suspect we agree on the royal family, but it’s not for me, her or you to decide what should happen with them. What reason are you talking about exactly?
I’m sure they contribute way more than you do to this world. Sounds like your talking for the sake of talking. Check out the princes trust for starters.
Thanks for making this video trying to make sense of the world. If objectivity is possible, is it easy to maintain? I’m impressed, I liked this video and you've got yourself a new subscriber!
Never have a stumbled across a greater bowl off word salad in my life! This is what we have to thank our university’s for! Victim mentality of the next generation 😢
Traitors is a good example and metaphor for our government and society! And if you struggle to understand the metaphor then evidently your part of the issue that we have in society and ignorance towards our governments.
so wait lets say they pick random men or women by coin flip, then pick a diverse cast of men(if they win) and their preference is all blonde , white, slim, big tits, big ass, slutty but loyal (very sexually giving but just to her bf), just about average intel, and very amenable. if women win its 6foot 4 millionaires with big dicks , then a list of 200 other preferences that all contradict each other like spontaneous and organized or clean and dirty or takes charge but does as hes told would that be inclusion would that be the next step would that be partisipation or nish
I didn't think it was Oscar worthy, personally. I don't see it as a snub. I do think Margot Robbie is a lovely and talented person, for what that's worth.🤷♀️
Isn’t an organisation a system and a structure? An award institution that consists of 10,000 mostly male older humans deciding on what is worthy in the central art form of our civilisation is organised and structured. It’s very much an ism issue if a man was preferred to a woman because of… what? Also let’s not forget Celine Song that was also snubbed for directed, even though her film was an indie favourite . Yes, men get snubbed too all the time, but in this particular situation it looks extremely weird and not surprisingly raising an ism question. Also oscars has a history of under awarding woman directors, editors and actors. It’s like if only nomination for Oppenheimer was Emily Blunt. Just because race isn’t in the problem here, doesn’t mean that the problem is a problem.
It’s convenient to make it a feminism issue whilst ignoring the multiple other women who (many for the first time) have been nominated. Also because something happens within a system doesn’t automatically make it a systematic issue. Systematic issues are routine and deliberate-Greta has been nominated once before, Margot twice which cancels out both those criteria
@@FeyisaraO. it will be much more convenient not to have an issue. Gosling was nominated before, so they don’t have problems giving repeated nominations to men. I also gave u an example of female director who was also snubbed this year, so it’s not a Margo/Greta problem.
Yes to the homegrown talent at the MOBOs! But I totally agree about the media personality nomination as the event was specifically created to acknowledge and celebrate Black talent. I love Amelia's content but she is able to be celebrated in other forums/venues - a lot of others don't have that same opportunity.
