I made this in honor of Metal Gear Rising's 11 Birthday. I wanted to focus on Khamsin since this is his theme, but there just isn't enough footage of him to complete the song so I used all of the Winds of Destruction and Sam. And yes, the sync of "The Crumbling Buildings" and "Like the Good Ole Days After 9/11" was a deliberate choice.

It had been a while since I watched the whole series and I was taken aback by how beautiful the end credits song is. Both the Lord of the Rings and Attack on Titan spoke to me in their tellings of both men overcoming past shortcomings and failings to achieve greatly and of staring down against overwhelming odds, but still continuing to to move forward for peace and prosperity. Even if Attack on Titan's ending left a very sour taste in my mouth, I can't hate this series. The highs for me far outweigh the lows. I will miss this series, and regardless of its failings, look back on it fondly and rewatch it till the Rumbling starts. Just to be clear I'm not done with AOT AMVs. There are more to come.
Great job! This video has accompanied my AOT trip up to the final chapters. If you ever feel like making a new AMV again, I have a suggestion for you. There is that song "EON" by Celldweller that I think describes Eren and the Attack Titan pretty well. Check it out, if you will. As an extra tipp, I definitely suggest the "Drop Remix" which adds a bit more to the "feels" side of the song.
I am especially proud of this AMV since Reiner is my favorite character in Attack on Titan and this project has been in the works for several years. I realize this is a breakup song and the lyrics don't completely match up so just pretend this is about a breakup between Reiner and his past prejudices, small-minded worldview/brainwashing, and suicidal tendencies. Also Isayama, you did him dirty with having him sniff that letter at the end. That was weird af. You just couldn't let him retain his dignity to the end?
You know, Marley really screwed up. I forget, did they know about the vow renouncing war before they walked into Paradis? Cuz if not, that makes them really stupid. If they did, then that makes them severely unlucky.
But also because they are essential to help establish tone and atmosphere. I saw a comment once saying this song “makes me feel patriotic for a country that doesn’t exist”, and that’s essentially what it’s meant to do. The theme of the song is rising up, overcoming impossible odds even over the corpses of your fallen friends. Not only does this pump you up, it brings you see through the eyes of the characters. And the tone changes as the story progresses. Most of the early seasons evoke this same feeling, but in later seasons, the tone is softer when they focus on character development or more tragic and heavy when more of the horrors of the outside world are revealed.
Wow. What a fantastic edit! Everything was in sync with the music perfectly and the shot choices were intelligently handpicked. If you don't mind me asking... how do you get access to so much footage from the show? I'd like to attempt my own edits.
