I have a 95 kodiac 400, i have changed the front brakes shoes and cylinders, ihave also changed the master cylinder, i have bled and bled the brakes stsrting with the left side over and over, got pure fluid no air left in the system at bleeders, Butthe shoes will not move any at all and the brake handel has very little resistance, i have not put the brake drums back on. What in the blue perfect hell is my problem
Thanks for making this video. I see that 71 throu 80 and 2001 throu 2010 have the same number or letter so how are we supposed to know which one is the year?
That switch turns on your rear work lights, you should have a clear lens in each tail light that looks like reverse lights but turn on and off with that switch
I think you've got the gasket upside down. I found it works well if you put the gasket in the airbox first, then push the air filter into place. Works great on my Big Bear.
by any chance, dose the seal inside of the master cylinder stay put i’m having a issue where mine keeps dropping and i’ve noticed the seal in the master keep moving the second i pump my brakes and it dose not fit in the hole that’s already there should it fit ?
Check the start relay up under the back plastics, it's by the rectifier. It's a small box that plugs in to the end of a wiring loom. You can reach up under there and pull that sucker right out. My 95 kodiak 400 did the same thing, and changing the box relay solved it 100%
I just had the same issue with a 2004 Sportsman 90.This line was actually melted and busted off. Who knows how long it was that way. I was looking to take the flywheel off and go into it that way, but I had some hospital tools and held it and replaced it with some yellow line so I can actually see. The pump is probably also on its way out. The line had spots of oil, so I had them to keep mixing their fuel so that can actually remove the oil tank from the equation.
Would you be able to do a video of where the fuel and air lines go from the carb, fuel pump and tank. I bougbt the same year quad and they didnt have any lines hooked up
I'm here now for my confession. After I let a kid start up my Kodiak for fun, it later refused to start. I checked everything - connections, switches, fuses, battery, grounds, relay, even regulator. NO LUCK. Then I sat on the quad and tried to remember what he might have done while sitting on it. Then I discovered a very small button I NEVER KNEW EXISTED under the starter switch - the engine kill switch. So after replacing the solenoid and almost submitting to a mechanic for help, I found the problem. The kid had hit that button by accident I never knew it. I told my wife I had finally found a loose plastic wire connector, so we'll leave it at that.
About 5 years ago I purchased a 1989 Honda TRX 300 4x4 for salvage parts. I was told it had no spark. I put it in the lineup of machines for disassemble. Got to it about a year later and found out the kill switch under the start button was in the off position. I positioned it to on and I started the machine right up
So we have a 1999 kodiak changed out starter silenod key switch and start button and nothing no clicks no starts acts as if no power to the key switch or the run on off start button . Could it be just a dead battery or possibly something else ? All the fuses are good cables exct checked alot of stuff so far everything checked out good so would it be just a bad battery?
I'm currently in the process of fixing up an old yamaha. Big problem was the cdi but it seems to need every little thing. I picked up 3/8" "marine/automotive" weather stripping for the air filter gasket. It worked great and ive got plenty left over for other things. Previous owners' ratted up the wiring pretty bad. They threw all the ignition parts at it, breaking bolts in the process. Five mins with a meter would have shown a dead short on the ignition output of the CDI. It definitely took me longer than five mins to know that...
The port does not "plug" The check ball sticks. Two ways to solve the problem is get a new OEM carb. Not a Chinese junk brand. Or another solution is to plug the port for the oil injection and run premix with high quality oil at 32:1 ratio
Thank you for this video!! I woke up and my 2002 Foreman had lost all it's oil on the garage floor. Found your video and guess what I had, a shift shaft seal that was pushed out and leaking! This wheeler was my dads and has ton of sentimental value so thanks again for posting this.
Glad to hear. Keep an eye on the repair. If you have an issue with the seal again you would need to look further for the source of the issue. Like too much crankcase pressure from worn piston rings
Dude make more videos and get some merch.ill buy some merch because you are awesome .you got straight to the point without no click bait B's and and a bunch of self loving fame seeking.thankyou I'll spread your channel.
love the vid i have the same quad picked it up for 450 bucks its a great beater to run around on great job getting her going cant wait for the next vid
Lol, I need to go back and look at mine again. I think I actually used it on the back side to push the filter in because I couldnt get it to fit. Wondering if you took the gasket and two pieces of wood or plastic to a vise for a day or two if you could compress it a little. Those aftermarket filters you had are actually too tight for the basket and split at the seam. Thanks for posting the part number. I think its actually less expensive than the aftermarket one...
I feel your pain. Just finished getting a 90 going and using an aftermarket carb might be the issue. Let me know what you find out. I know them OEM carbs are costly.
This videos was very straightforward and useful thanks!. Some A...Hole stole my kodiak since I got it back they stripped parts and the brakes aren't working! Anybody know where to find a seat for a 1996-1998 Kodiak 400? I don't have one and having trouble finding one
Thanks for your help. My 400 stopped starting with the switch and only would start with a few pulls. Got a new solenoid and still did not start. Just about to order a new starter when I come upon your video. Going to get a new switch first as I too have been having trouble with the high beems not being as bright as they used to be. Thanks Kevin
Hello Jason I thought I recognized your voice then I saw your shop and knew it was you. I have the same problem with oil dripping down my engine. Brian Dolata
