With that kind of weather, I would try some fast flowering sativa genetics. You have some great conditions for plants to thrive! Just need mold resistance and heat resilience.
The way I was taught was 60 degrees, 60% humidity, for 14 days. But those numbers can't always be met. Plus, you should have a fan in the drying room that is not blowing directly on the plants, but is moving the air around the drying plants. If mold is an issue, you may want to look into a dehumidifier for the drying room. Keep it between 55-60%. I try to get at least 9 or 10 days of drying time if I hang dry my plants. 14 days would be ideal, but not always achievable. The longer the dry time, the smoother they will taste and the better the terpenes usually are. This is obviously not always the case, but you get the idea. Great video! Thanks for posting.
I don't recommend wet trimming. Just remove the leaves that you can cut the stems of and leave the rest to dry with the plant. The leaves will help keep in some of the moisture as they hang dry. That helps to prolong the drying time so the buds don't dry too fast and fail to convert the chlorophyl. I have to say that those autos are huge. You must have great soil conditions with excellent drainage. Are they planted in the ground?
I grow on a pot with no bottom, the soil in that sleeve is like potting soil made of compost, Perlite, peat moss and worm castings, I soften the clay in the ground and add organic matter. I agree, a long dry.
Do you do any defoliating? Plants look good and strong. I defoliate some of my plants when they are bushy and leafy. My backyard has issues with caterpillars and powdery mold. Thinning out the leaves a little helps airflow and also with visibility to detect issues with the plants. How many plants do you have total? Thanks for posting this video.
I've had many attempts to grow autos outdoors and I have learned that many "breeders" don't know what they are doing. Some of those are not full on auto flowers. Those are probably the biggest auto flowers I have ever seen.
I did get a great yield from them, ten times what I expected and I am curing it and have started smoking some. There's another video I made where I believe I found the reason why.
I've never had reason to visit Oklahoma, and in fact, it is not really a place I care to visit due to its far-right politics, but I'd sure like to visit with you sometime.
@@dreamingwhilefat4888 I harvested it and dried and am curing it now, I have sampled it and it is a lot better than what I did last year, I am still learning and enjoying it, take care.
Looks good! Mine are right about where yours are at in terms of flowering. About 1 week in. I harvested an outdoor grown AUTOFLOWER in July and got 30 grams from that. Crop King Seeds sent me an unknown Autoflower when I had ordered Black Gorilla Fem. photoperiod. It turned out pretty good but I reached out to customer support and they ignored me. It's not a good look for Crop King Seeds. If I had known it was an Autoflower beforehand I would have grown it indoors under 20/4 light schedule and would have at least triple the yield. "It is what it is." Happy growing! Cheers, from TO Canada
I bought some seeds from Royal Queen Seeds, Watermelon Auto flowers, and from those I got some seeds. Last may I took ten seeds and buried them in the pot they are in but had to thin them out, I placed three in a smaller pot and those I am drying now but the ones I left in the original pot just kept growing. I have colas as long as my arm and I may be harvesting the more advanced one very soon.
Ten days is the magic number for me and the environment here, I leave some fan leaves on for a few days then cut them, I aim for a nice slow dry, our RH is fairly low, after that I burp for a few times but not too necessary.
I pruned them a couple of times and of course defoliated them, lollipop, but the space to spread was limited and that is why they climbed up high, the auto flower was supposed to stay small and flower by now providing more space for the regular ones but instead has grown to at least ten feet.
The 'pot' is just a sleeve, at the bottom I soften up the clay and mix it with my own mix of potting soil and a few small pieces of wood, there are a few other steps so I guess the best is to make a video to explain it better. Thank you for the interest.
I use a bag of Black Cow, a bag of mushroom compost, a bag of humus, a certain amount of peat moss, and Perlite, two thirds of a solo cup of 13-13-13 all purpose fertilizer, I do raise worms and compost all my waste including grass which is full of nitrogen, I use this indoors too.
@liberalinoklahoma1888 I would def appreciate a video. I have a lil outdoor garden and always looking for tips. The mushroom compost is definitely intriguing.
@@debo21210 00 There are some great videos about the the microbial life that goes on in the ground and its relationship with plants, the internet is a wonderful thing and full of great info.
@liberalinoklahoma1888 don't I know it. Lol. I was commenting to help keep this kinda content populated. I'm pretty knowledgeable but far from the smartest. So I always enjoy learning. Plus it gives the content creators ideas. I would love to see how u care for ur garden. 🙂
How many plant in there that were tall and were they topped? Some of the plants look topped some didnt. You sure have a green thumb. Good luck on the great harvest.
There are three singles, photo periods, a Zskittles, a Critical and a Divine Storm, the fourth and tallest are the three auto flower Watermelons. About three weeks ago I placed the first net to support them at six feet but had to cut from four to six inches on them to make the net fit, now I am putting another because they have stretched at least another two feet. Thank you for the interest and encouragement.
The four auto flowers in the one pot I did cut about six inches when I put the netting on even though we are told auto should not be messed with too much, they also are not supposed to get ten feet high.
@@liberalinoklahoma1888 tell me you only watch main stream media without telling me huh. Biden recently looked a black guy in his face and said if you don’t vote for me you ain’t black. wtf. He did the crime bill in the 80’s that put millions of African Americans in jail EXCLUSIVELY. I am Native American if he would have told me I wasn’t Native American OH MY GOD IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ON. Well anyway your hair sniffer in chief just fossilized and backed out of the election. Y’all’s leadership was trying to get you to vote for a corpse. That doesn’t make you feel like a chump. Stay on your side. We don’t want everybody. Some people are hopeless. Lmao stay mad bro
Dude I just planted my watermelons and pumpkins. I've got all kinds of goodies this year. Last year I got ripped off for 2 watermelons. They were so bunk and pink I was all upset I got it at Mi Pueblo. I noticed your the watermelon king. Kool beanz
