I have been on a quest to find spirituality. I am going through a second messy break up within 10 years and a strong connection from my spirit to the spirit or soul of something more divine and grandiose than myself is what I am seeking. I like to think that any of my spirituality comes from science and fact. One thing that has always left me in awe is the cosmos, so I studied astronomy in college. My parents raised me in "common" religion of catholicism and christianity but as I grew into my own person I found I had no faith in the fictitious teaching and stories of "gospel". I have a strong feeling that if man would have been more concerned and caring about nature and the environment from long ago, our planet wouldn't be in the catastrophic condition it is in right now. My soon to be ex-wife began studying taro about 3 years ago. She has many books and decks of different meanings and origins and she began giving herself and the rest of our family (me and our son) daily readings. I always took the readings with a grain of salt because again I am not feeling any spiritual connection to the process. One thing that continuously came up in my readings was the lack of a spiritual connection, and upon hearing this in my readings I began my quest. I started with astronomy and that lead to astrology, which I love. My wanting to connect with the cosmos, has leads to connecting with mother earth. I find more peace, comfort, and belonging from nature than any of the other "religions or theology". My ex suggested that I try my own readings to seek or guide myself to spiritualism, she suggested runes, smoke readings, astragalo (bones/dice), biblo (books), carto (cards, tarot, oracle), Chiro (pamlistry) favo (beans), lympado (flames) and tasseo (tea leaves). Again I am not feeling any of that, not even sure I want to have readings or a guide for everyday, I just want to live in peace and allow good karma to flow my way. Another of my strengths comes from music. If I could find spirituality in music then that is what my soul will bind to. And that lead me here to "shamanic drumming". I started to tap along with the beat as I listened to your words and tears ran from my face as I shut my eyes and just listened. Again, maybe I don't want or need daily readings. I just want to be able to meditate, relax, and be open for the future, no matter what that brings. Thank you for all that you did for me today and now I can enter meditation and find connectivity through my own means, and I plan on using this everyday.
Good to know! I was lead to buy one today 😊 Created a video about this but it won't be released until later next month. Excited to get started! Fabulous that it has transformed your life! 💛

What if you don’t have a drum? Also have chronic pain so although I might want to, I could only drum lightly. And what is the cost after the free class?
@@FKA68 Hi Lorna, you can drum on your lap for the free session and for our beginner classes. Many people who are dealing with pain drum on a pillow or their laps. We are currently promoting a non-recurring Fall Season Pass for a one time payment of $48 which expires on November 20th.
In Melinda Maxfield's (1990) dissertation Journey of the Drum, laboratory research was done to find the pattern of beats per second that had the best results in inducing a non-ordinary state. A pattern of approximately 4 to 4 1/2 beats per second, "showed varying degrees of increased theta during shamanic drumming" (Maxfield,1990 p 9 ). Eight of the twelve participants in the laboratory research study experienced a shift in ordinary reality into the non-ordinary with the use of the synthesized drum beat technique. Drumming, like music, can help people delve deeper into themselves without the need for talkt herapy (Maxfield, 1990). Looking back, "in ancient Greece both Plato and Aristotle ascribed curative power to certain melodies" (Walsh, 2007, p. 211). Drumming can be a helpful way to pull oneself into a non-ordinary state, reaching deeper meditative levels. Dr. Arrien believed,"when we embark on such a journey, we open ourselves to the possibility of removing blocks and obstacles to receiving love and giving love" (1993, p 57). Maxwell's (1990) research found that journeywork combined with drumming may have been an ancient form of stress reduction and technique for entering into an altered state. www.academia.edu/9267398/Psychology_of_Shamanism_The_Transformative_and_Restorative
Wonderful explanation of the shamanic state of consciousness and the deep healing that can take place through this simple rhythmic practice. Thank you!

@@rhythmbliss2997Thanks for the video and additional info 😊🙏 I'm excited to receive my first vegan frame drum. I plan on painting it. I intuitively was tapping below my collar bone while having a mini panic attack. This was at a rate of about 4 bpm I released painful emotions as I gave myself unconditional love affirmations. Shortly after this I thought "Perhaps I should buy a drum? Two days later I ordered my drum, purchased two mallets and also some sage. Let the journey begin! ❤
You can use you lap, a djembe, congas, tubolos, ashiko, a frame drum in free hand style, or any other hand drum where the surface of the drum sits parallel to the floor at around waist height.
I love you guys!❤👍 I'm from South America, specifically from Medellin Colombia and I'm also yogi and drummer 😊👍🕉 I feel very identify whit your purposal. I think meditation is not only to be quiete but also to be able to move all that energy and create happiness and wellness. thanks a lot!!!❤🙏
LOVELY way to beat so much love in to the world with so many hearts beating heart beats! You inspire me on the regular Soul Sister, looking forward to the day you get to test out the Djembe I designed and hand painted in Senegal! Keep cr8ing and sharing all your love and light!
