This guy is doing an awful lot of work that don’t need to be done. There are plenty of corners to cut with a little common sense that will not hurt the integrity of the job.
@@Constantuned i have a 98 4dr civic with a d15b with a s40 k4f b000 (ex 96 trans) but i have swapped to 5 lug crv hub (36mm hub) i dont know which axle combination to use any guess
Hey will a Y7 Head fit on a Y8 Block with no mods? I need to get it running for now till I find a Y8 Head. Cars been down for 3 months. Heads are hard to find. lol
Yeah y8 and y7 blocks are the same minus the provision for the knock sensor and the pistons are slightly different but only will change your compression slightly.
Like what you’ve done with it. I have an 04 with 238k and need to do some upgrades. Any plans for a winch on it? Can’t tell if that bumper is set up to accept or not. Thanks for the walk through.
That’s a king cab isn’t it ? Not a crew cab. I have a 2008 Nissan Titan LE same 2 door with the rear suicide doors and my insurance says king cab. Where do you get the metal off-road front bumper ? I’m in Canada I want to start building my Titan to be a off-road beast.
I'm going to be doing putting a ft550 in my completely stock d15b7 as well. Currently building a css d16z6 but getting the ft550 first and playing with that stock. How you liking it now 4 months later?
Ive been battling with a misfire issue at high rpm which i believe is noise from the distributor rpm signal. Im going to be installing a delacruz trigger kit on the car this week and see if that resolves my issue. Overall ive really enjoyed the fueltech. Definitely glad i did the daily driver before my race car. Theres alot to learn. Should have an update video next week. The car has been swapped to a d16y8.
Thanks for your video , we camp up in the Rapidan wildlife management area at least 4 times a year , Blakey mountain is a long rough road ,always carry a chainsaw 👍.
One year later im here seeing this, its two slow for 11psi, i did the same time, 0-60 in 8 sec, with cheap N/A build and automatic transmission, just ethanol, 42lbs injector, ecu tune HTS and cold air intake
Y7/y8 timing belt are the same. This particular setup was a 2 layer OEM Y8 gasket. Bumps the compression a little bit over a fel pro or aftermarket headgasket. Its considerably thinner than most. Any y8 head gasket will work though. the y7 and y8 blocks are the same. Y8 just has a spot for the knock sensor. Dont think the y7s do.
this was my very first build a very very long time ago. Yes its to sad never saw the full potential of this build. Just a few more little touches could have yielded alot better results. But I drove the car for a years to college and really got to enjoy it. Sadly the car is gone and all that is left is a G23 engine in my shed lol. The Cast iron block shall live on hopefully.
Not sure on the armada or infiniti SUV. Mine has a solid axle but i can tell you the axles in the solid axles are different depending what rear end you have. The towing/offroad axles are larger and different lengths. Good luck with your Independent rear setup though buddy.
Thank you so much for this video it's been a nightmare with the dealership trying to get the correct bearing, the part number in the description was correct thank you sir
Car was swapped for a Vitara built block. The stock engine still in my shed doing fine. The Vitara build spun a bearing after some highboost ethanol pulls at Hday. I didn't change the oil enough and and i daily drove it so two weeks after hday i heard the bearing. Gonna be rebuilding it with a 4piston racing oil pump and an oil cooler system few other things too. Checkout our TikTok and instagram
Awesome! Yeah the shop wanted $400 to replace my half shift.. and this makes it look even easier! My steering rack is leaking too.. did you install with the genuine Nissan OEM replacement? How's it holding up?
just parts store axles. they are still doing okay but with extreme lifts like my setup the CV axle is extreme so its definetly increase the wear. I wont be shocked if i have to replace them soon. I keep a spare in the truck at all times for what i do with the truck but on a stock setup this is nothing to worry about.
If I had a auto y7, and got a y8 ecu and harness would the idle air control valve work with a manual intake manifold or auto? Sorry if the question is confusing
