I agree and have lived my life without religion....BUT let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. There is I believe a true benefit to what we call prayer, not of course as a mystical conduit, but as a form of meditation or centering. Sure, it's the placebo effect,but beneficial all the same. It's such a shame that religion has poisoned what could be of great benefit to people.

I grew up in the uk. We have religious education in schools and always have. We don’t teach the bible, it would be better described as cultural education. We learn about the belief systems of mankind, how they influence history and modern issues. It’s about understanding of others. Ironically, this non separation seems to help create less religion in our society. That and we have philosophy as a subject that delves into the cosmology and argument for and against god. The point is that those lessons are very separate to any science we do. It isn’t an issue to do these things, in fact I’d say these classes are important and good for human understanding. It’s about how you do them though. If you are preaching and teaching the bible then that is t the same thing. America need a formal curriculum so everyone is leaning the basics and teachers can’t teach nonsense.
A lot of people aside from atheists(Hindus , Buddhists for example) who don’t follow the Bible and don’t believe in the abrahamic god yet they are more moral than many self proclaimed Godly people.😢

When I was in High School we studied WWII. I asked my dad how could one man like Hitler herd an entire part of his nation's population into torture camps, work them to a bone, starve them to death and throw them into death pits and no one noticed what was going on. This is awesome! I was sent to jail for asking questions at ITOWN CHURCH in Fishers Indiana. They set up to trespass me, the security held me against my car when I was leaving. They made me sign a diversion to stay out the jail 😢 I need your help please!!!! There are more people hurt by this church and LE is backing up them.
I ran across Alice's book and am going to read it. But I also saw online about her acting. This led me to this RU-vid channel. Alice is a very good speaker and very intelligent. I respect her choices and also this channel. But I do want to say, as someone growing up in the bible belt with some of the same religious struggles, I'm so sad for what she went through. My life wasn't this extreme. I grew up baptist. As a grown woman, I still believe in God and have experienced miracles. In my own life but mainly at the hospital i work at. As far as the slain in the spirit, I experienced this as a grown woman visiting a church of God. The pastor didn't have time to touch my head and I fell over. No pain. But the guy that shoved Alice down, shame on him! He's a fake. He did more harm than good. There's a little too much extreme with some people. I've wrestled and prayed and come to the conclusion, God is real but He is a loving God. I don't believe He would want us to feel so ashamed and down. There's so much psychological harm from a lot of extremism.

Since USA is not caring for Christians and other minorities being persecuted in many places of the world ,I think it is high time there is an atheistic/agnostic european state in the wotld which exists to protect them and ywt does not degenerate into ultra liberalism or ignores human differences which affects people in the ground but is geared to protect human rights of people in places where vulnerable communities live and maybe ensure a long term solution.
I left AHA because they took an award away from Richard Dawkins simply because he shared SCIENCE! It Is a scientific fact that our gender is binary. That doesn't mean that people cannot be homosexual or transgender. It simply means that the genetics show that they are either male or female. When nones start throwing science and those who speak of science under the bus because they don't agree with the Science, We have a serious problem! I have seen this in other atheists and democrat circles too.
