I have read the Ludell trilogy several times in the last 43 years. The last time was just yesterday. Thank you for your great work, Mrs. Wilkinson. I'll always be a fan. P.S. can you please write a book about Ludell and Willie as adults? And tell us what happened to their fathers? Thanks! 😊
Thank you so much for having this conversation and keeping it available! I am just now listening to it in July 2023, and feeling so inspired and ready to re-read this book again and again, and use it for campaign strategy inspiration with my team!
I love your drop back it put me in mine of a book my granddaughter did a project on in pre k . My granddaughter painted a pumpkin pink and dressed it as a pirate.
Brenda: Telling your story is inspiring to those who aspire to put pen to paper. Please continue to write with the vulnerability that takes such courage to share and thank you.
Enjoyed the interview with Brenda Wilkerson. It really brought back memories of that time in our lives. I too will be reading Ludell again as an adult. And I will be getting a copy of Carman and Grace. Thank you both.
I'm so honored that I was able to connect the two of you! What a wonderful interview! Brenda, I'm so glad that your books are continuing to make an impact. Melissa, I cannot wait to read your book! Also, I, too, was rubbed down with Vicks! Ha!
Say their names, Ms. Alice Walker & Ms. Pearl Cleage. I cannot express what your creativity , and bearing your souls have meant to me. We embrace your wisdom and intellect. In sisterhood
I just bought this book today. I hardly ever buy anything brand new usually I just go through the shelves of dollar used books, but I could not walk off and leave this one in the window of my favorite bookstore. Now I am listening to this on the way home.
Amazing. As a mental health therapist this talk is much needed. I bought two books and giving away one to a client. May purchase more clients as part of their toolbox.
very insightful. however to conclude that overtime this problem or white rage will improve or subside is delusional. we keep misreading or misinterpreting history.
Misreading or misinterpreting history ? The " Government " keeps cough, cough, 'white washing ' history every 6 years with New History Text Books. I am 40 years old and my grandparents " KEPT " their collage history books from the 1960's for their grandchildren to read. When I was 14 years old in 1991, I was reading books that was about 30 years out of date. What they taught in high school didn't cover or change the facts as to what happen in WW2. Humans/ people never really change.
