9/28/24: I watched the entire series today, and WOW!, I am in awe with what you created. Page for page I was completely blown away. I wondered how you were going to sew it up and now I know how to tackle it. It seemed a bit labor intensive when you were doing that part, 'cause you were breathing heavy. LOL! I've already started making mine and you've given me so many wonderful ideas to continue on with my journey to complete it. My only problem is, because it's so time consuming and I have not made one before, I give a LOT of everything I make away, but this one, OH NO, I just can't do it. I'm gonna be selfish and keep it for myself. However, if someone specifically wants one after seeing mine, well, we'll just have to talk turkey 'cause it's a lot of work. I love everything you did, and I thank you for sharing this wonderful and creative two journals with everyone. 😊
Karen, another beautiful masterpiece journal of yours. Simply exquisite and what elegant dreams are made of.👑💎💖 Thank you for sharing your flip through it's really is so inspiring and dreamy to watch.💝💐
This is really just even more exquisite than I realized from the photos! The beautiful frilly skirt, button spine, and over the top gorgeous trims and embellishments are just stunning Karen! I love that you carry elements from previous journals to new journals.. such special details that connect your pieces of art! Absolutely gorgeous!!!!! And thank you for such kind words as well. You are truly appreciated and deeply admired <3
Ok... TBH, I've never really been crazy over any Tall, Skinny Journals... BUT after simply glancing at This Beauty; I can no longer say that because I am *IN-LOVE!* You pay so much attention to detail & You are an INCREDIBLE ARTIST for sure! *WAIT!!!* Was This Magnificent Masterpiece created for me?!? LOL! My Favorite Color is Blue & My Favorite Flowers are Roses!!! One of My Favorite Musicals is "Les Miserables" & I Adore Butterflies & Lace! You even included the word "Lapis" on one of the pages because you once considered naming this Journal after one of my Absolute Favorite Stones! The Very First Piece of Crystal Jewlry I Ever Purchased for myself was a beautiful necklace with a Lapis Lazuli Pendant that was surrounded with tiny Herkimer Diamonds & Amethyst! I was immediately captivated by the rich blue color of the Lapis Stone that had been found in Iraq & the tiny flecks of Mica looked just like a Night Sky full of Stars! Such a Wonderful Variety of Phenomenal Papers, Fibers, Bookpages, & Super Elegant Laces & Trims!!! If I could one day be Lucky Enough to have The Honor of Purchasing This Epic Journal, I'd certainly agree with you on adding those GORGEOUS Charms! ●IS THIS MASTERPIECE STILL AVAILABLE?● ~🙏💙🙏Much Graditude From The Carolinas🙏💙🙏~
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch this video and leave your lovely comments. This journal sold some time ago but keep watching and hopefully another one may capture your heart💗
Aghhh!!! I've had SOOO MUCH going on in Life that I've missed out on SO MUCH Crafty Goodness in so many different ways, on So Many different levels!😮 Blue has always been My Absolute Favorite Color; So I am Mind-Blowingly, In-Love with all 3 of these Phenomenal Masterpieces!!! I can see EXACTLY WHY this Journal sold so very quickly! Some Lovely Lucky Person Saw "A Sneak Peak"... & They obviously have SUPERB TASTE since they knew they wanted This Fabulous Journal of Elegance before it was even finished!! I love these colors!
Absolutely beautiful. I always love the beautiful pieces you use to embellish. Thank you for the flip through. I am inspired to get busy and make something.
Wow!! Karen what a beautiful journal, love every inch of it. The skirt you made for the cover is amazing. Love your tags . Using Suzi’s and Sheila pieces brought it all together nicely and I love Marjorie’s paper . This is one of the best mermaid journals I’ve seen. I’ve been wanting to make a mermaid journal for years. One day I’ll get to it lol. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful journal. It gives me inspiration.. have a blessed day 🧜♀️🐠⚓️🩵🦋
OMG this is THE most GORGEOUS journal I have EVER seen! The trims, laces & appliques are so beautiful! Is it for sale? How do you get you trims, laces & appliques from the vendors listed in your description? Do they have etsy shops or websites? TYFS Cindy P.S. the journal skirt is exquisite!!
Thanks for watching and for your lovely comments. This journal sold very quickly. The vendors I listed are mostly found in our FB groups which I have linked in the description box. Some of them have Etsy shops. I also use from my supply of vintage & antique collected items.
I feel so blessed that you are willing to share your talents on video. I learned so much at the retreat, but I know I will be referring to this a lot. ❤
Dear Karen, love your beautiful journal cover!! I love all of your videos but I do get very excited when you have a tutorial! Thanks for sharing your creative process!! Your work is amazing, my beautiful friend!!💕
Thanks for an instructive and great video. Previously, Sheila Gingerich showed in a tutorial how she used steam and seam. I bought one from Amazon but haven't used it yet. This seems perfect to use when using thin and delicate fabrics for the cover. Then fabritac or other glue is difficult to use so it looks nice and you avoid glue penetration. Your cover turned out perfect! 👏👌Your video is very useful and easy to understand and follow! So valuable to me who never meet any journaling women in real life. Bohodaydreams are worth their weight in gold to me! To get tips, advice, support and inspiration! Thank you so much!🙏
Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely comment. The SAS product is great indeed for delicate fabrics and trims. Sheila has created a wonderful environment for fellow creators to share and I’m very thankful to be part of this group!!💗
Wow that came out perfect but of course it’s specific to the details …so perfectly explained ..thank you so much Karen.that steam aseam looks a tad intimidating but so worth learning ,the outcome is beautiful,,,one question do you use seam a steam for all fabrics or it’s only this more sensitive silky fabrics?also what temperature would we use w the iron?excellent tutorial of course btw🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💯✌️🍓🌻
Mary - you could use SAS for all fabrics and trims. Usually the package will state recommendations for ironing but I use a cotton setting for my projects. Thanks for watching!!
Yes very helpful :) i have fabric and steam-a-seam but haven't known how to put it together. Do you know if I can use my clamshell press on it instead of an iron? And what setting/temperature should i use? Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching!! I have never used a clamshell press but you could try it out on some scraps on a very low setting to see if that works for you.
Glad that i came across this! First time ive heard of using this type of "adhesive". Love there's no signs of glue showing through the fabric. Is it feasible to use this stuff for gluing down very small or narrow pieces of see through lace or trim, or do you think it'd just end up being more work than just using Fabri Tac? I hate seeing dried, shiney glue spots showing through my lace/trim. Thanks!
Just beautiful, Karen! Wow! Every detail ❤ I love the little lace pages in this one. The charms are lovely and I just love all the little books tucked in. Thank you for taking the time to share both and I really appreciate you mentioning me in both as well ❤ That antique lame is just amazing. I have some stashed to use one day - I’ll come back to your video to remember how you used it when I’m ready to use mine! Beautiful 😍
I love that lame so much and I hope all the ladies that got a piece of it in my class kits are enjoying it as well. Your laces & trims are incredible. Thanks so much for watching my videos!! Hugs xox💗💗💗
Just absolutely stunning. I don’t have the words to explain how much I love this journal! The jewel tones and vintage tones together are enchanting. Every single detail is gorgeous. That vintage mermaid post card - wow! I love that mermaid image on your favorite page. My jaw dropped more than once during this video! Just gorgeous Karen!
