Between my husband and myself we've bene working with SAP implementation projects for over 30+ years. I've learned loads about business works because of it and seen it make a hug impact. Thought is it really a software company you've never heard of???
Well, I USED to write Java, C, and Python code and do mathematical calculations for the electric vehicles project; I used to take meetings and translate German products to American \ san Franciscan Market. But then, I was kidnapped, assaulted and rendered permanently injured; I went onto medical leave. When I got somewhat stronger and enough to consider coning back, SAP rejected me (illegally) because I now have a service dog. They wouldn't let me back in the office with her. They did offer my my job back, at the same pay rate, not even a cost of living raise. When I informed my German Manager Dr. Uwe Kubach that the salary they were paying me in Palo Alto wasnt enough to afford a 1BR apartment at local market rate, he scowled and said, "I dont care; I have 70 other people to manage". So I went onto permanent medical disability and later ended up at Intuit at double the salary :) I now so government contracting making 50x as much owning my own company. None og my colleagues checked in on me when I was in hospital. So that told me all I needed to know about SAP's shitty work culture. They really hate straight white women, there. Their rainbow flag explicitly excludes us, and they don't deserve this woman who was an electricity critical infrastructure engineer and power plant automation specialist programmer , anyway. They don't pay enough. The culture is so bad. unless you are gay, don't work there! Overall, worst job decision I've ever taken. Loved the job, but the compensation and culture were terrible. I left everything (family, boyfriend, home) behind to move to the west coast, just to be underpaid and and treated as if I didnt matter. OH - and - the misogyny! Being left out of meetings with my own team due to incompetent social hires overly focused on "diversity" (meaning every person was from a different country & none of us could communicate; boy's club excluding the girls and not inviting them to meetings) only to be hit by California's violent crime + lack os accountability+ lack of police enforcement really was the worst. I would never recommend anyone to work there. It really was one of the biggest regrets of my life. I'm still injured, 10 years later. They gave me a permanent disability award since they (the police) never caught my kidnapper nor put him in jail. Consolation prize. In summary, don't waste your time with SAP. There are better jobs. You're just a cog in the wheel here with no power to affect change, and nobody cares, anyway. #LifeAtSAP #SAPLabs #PaloAlto #ElectricVehicles #EVProject What was also fun: after the assault, I was nonverbal and had speech problems (brain injury) for a while. I recall sending FAXES -- 📠 to alert Aetna (our health insurance company) and many of the higher ups. You know, because it's Germany. Worst job experience I've ever had. Totally loved the work. Best project. Company treated me like shit & I was severely underpaid. Tarnished the SAP name permanently, for me. I'll never go back. Can't believe I gave up my college boyfriend of 3 years to move across country for that job. Gave up everything. Sold all my things to move. Gave it 💯 my everything. Rode my bike to work every day with military precision, fully integrated. And that is how they treat me. "I don't care." - Uwe's words will forever haunt me. It reminded me to go where I am valued, and now I own my own business, am a double doctoral candidate for integrative medicine (had to heal, you know! 10 years in the making) and now do data science and speak on such topics, instead of writing code for this garbage company who didn't value me. It's so truly sad. Fax machines. Honestly. WTF SAP?
I'm now an international public speaker at the Health 2.0 Conference in Dubai and Las Vegas :) The measly salary SAP used to give which couldn't afford me a basic 1bedroom apartment is well in the past, now. And, another funny story -- while @SAP Labs, Palo Alto, we were working on something called "Project Sock Puppet" where we focused on reducing the incidence of suicide in select populations in the Bay Area, California -- there was an epidemic of suicide in the Bay Area in 2012. As #datascientists, we were tasked with finding ways to reduce the causations of This; it began with online social media bullying. Fascinating when we discuss #datainteroperability and the #internet2conf. So much was covered up. The Californian police are garbage. All I gotta say. Anyway, so they awarded me for "Outstanding Leadership" and now I'm a public speaker. I never went on stage for EV topics because my life was threatened as an #ev #developer. Shit got real They DEFINITELY DID NOT PAY ENOUGH! Would not recommend working at SAP. Terrible experience.

Are you referring to use of 'Z' and 'S' ? Standardization and standardisation are both English terms. Standardization is predominantly used in 🇺🇸 American (US) English ( en-US ) while standardisation is predominantly used in 🇬🇧 British English (used in UK/AU/NZ) ( en-GB ).
