Steel. One strapped to the roof bar with a ratchet strap, vertical one for ground support, V at the top with a tied an angle bracket…. But an oar rowlock would also be suitably. However it’s much easier to grab a couple of bodies to help lift it on (as people at the open events know) … the see me arrive and run for the club house!
The joy of a none-stayed mast. My mast is one of the original Needlespar masts which are a bit 'whippy'! There's a proposal at this weekends association meeting to allow full Carbon Fibre masts... we'll have to see how they compare!
