Hi Ana! It’s me Sunny! I bought a typewriter from you at a pen show years ago. Anyway, I love that we also share a love for tarot. My favorite rider Waite smith clones are Kitty Kehane and Sakki Sakki Tarot. I love colorful decks!
Good idea to do a comparison! Both decks are beautiful, but I think I prefer the concept of the minor arcana in the Once Upon a Time. It's such a cute deck and like what they did with the suits. I already have the Tarot of the Divine as another fairytale deck so that'll be interesting to compare as well :)
There are so many fairytale decks these days, but it's nice to have the variety to choose from! I ended up ordering the Once Upon a Time Tarot so I'll see if I like it in comparison since the TotD is one of my favourites.
Botanica Tarot has been on my wishlist for a while, as a major part of my collection and Tarot practice is using plant decks. However, I never could get past the guidebook not connecting the plant clearly to the Tarot archetype. I got spoiled by Terra Botanical (my first deck). Though only the majors and courts are illustrated, it very clearly connects the plant to the Tarot archetype. Herbcrafter's does the same. Therefore, though I resonate so much with this gorgeous artwork, I think it'd have to be a pass for me because it just wouldn't get much use. The Oracle of the Radiant Sun seems very interesting to me, however!
It is a bit of a disappointment with the botanica tarot because it has so much going for it. Honestly, I think a more expanded guidebook or pdf would do a world of good for it. I feel like the creator put more into the deck than is coming through in the guidebook.
"C'mon, these like to play together..." This is terrific! It's official - your videos are bad for my checkbook. But actually I am really enjoying them. Again, thank you. I sure appreciate that you bother to put links.
Life is better with a cat. This is great; thanks. I ordered through your link, and then I will also do a little walkthrough in a week or so. I will link to your vid if that's alright. I'm way behind in posting as I've had some health issues. You did a great job here.
You know what, I have to tell you something. It’s your name “the well appointed mystic” I was wondering what you truly mean by that. Because it got me thinking since you are a well appointed mystic are there mystics out there, perhaps on RU-vid that aren’t well appointed? Say if they’re too poor to buy many decks, such as mistress Rae? Do you think a RU-vid mystic should have enough money to buy a generous amount of decks? In which case I think you’re wrong, and I think you are potentially very rude to imply that. And another thing, these videos across the board from many RU-vidrs are horribly boring, you guys suck the life out of amazing cards and booktubers books. It seems especially pronounced when y’all are mentioning card stock, it’s as if even the images don’t matter, just the shuffle. You all are very low mental activity. Suffice to say I don’t like your video.
I really like Thistledown with Tarot of a Witch’s Garden. I’ll have to try it out! By the way, I wrote to Llewellyn and they replaced my Witch’s Garden with the typo. I don’t have the Magickal Herb Oracle but I love that pairing as well!
It will be interesting to see if I still like the same pairing with my Tarot of Mystical Moments when the pocket size comes out. Right now I am using Unlocking the Secret Garden and it is already larger than my tried TOMM deck.
Unlocking the Secret Garden is a good pairing for Mystical Moments too! I'm excited about the mini TOMM too but I'm worried it will be the same thick, shiny paper so fingers crossed it will be better paper stock.
I'm so glad you found me. I also have a channel for all the standard Well-Appointed Desk content. You can find it here: ru-vid.com/show-UCayCESDQS-mtCzdna99PU2w
I have all her decks as well (including Pixikins and the Fairie Guidance Oracle). Paulina Tarot was my first of hers (and my first deck when I came back to tarot after 20-something years). I'd thrown away the box and *just* this morning purchased a second Paulina deck so I could have a box 😅 She's one of only 2 artists whose decks I have all of. I love them! I read the comment before mine and didn't realize she is coming out with another fairie oracle. Is it a reprint? Super interested!
I just looked at her website and she has the Magicmaker's Tarot due out this fall along with the Fairies Guidance oracle. It doesn't say "rerelease" so I'm not sure if it will be the same or not? Fun!
She has such a distinctive style! I love it. I just have the phantasma and it's a favorite of mine. I'm looking forward to her upcoming Fairies Oracle that's supposed to be coming out later this year. Great video 💕
@@wellappointedmystic yes! I don't know which variation of spelling of "fairies" it is off the top of my head but you should be able to find it on Paulina's website 😊
So many fun decks! I love the Zodiac Tarot and want to start using it more now that I’ve gotten back into astrology in a big way and want to combine the two. I’m so tuned into the symbols in the classic RWS that it can distract me when things are “missing” but I’m trying to get over that. My favorite RWS is still the classic from the 70’s and I mean the decks that were printed back then, especially without the copyright on the fronts. The card stock is lovely and the colors are not as bright although I do have some older decks (maybe from the 80’s?) that do have the copyright and even more toned down colors. I’ve tried the Universal Waite (Pixie’s art recolored by Mary Hanson-Roberts) but it can be too pale and I’ve also used the Radiant Rider-Waite which is vibrant without being garish but the faces are redrawn and there’s something lacking if that makes sense. The RWS Redux by Jamie Sawyer is really nicely done but the card stock feels stiff. I’m so picky LOL! I adore the Blythe Tarot and am so happy you told me about it! ❤
I keep going back to my little RWS Centennial in a tin. It's one of those decks that just has a good vibe for me and I never would have expected that when I started my journey.
@@wellappointedmystic yeah, the more I learn about Pixie, the more I love the art even though it may not be the most beautiful or diverse deck in my collection. I have a new book that looks at it from a theatrical perspective which is also cool!
That’s so cool that Bob trims your decks for you! I especially love how the Cozy Witch and Night Goddess decks look trimmed! OK also, I have to admit I was also thinking about doll customization while watching your video and how there are some similarities lol! ❤😊
Hi, Love seeing your review on rhe size of decks. I have trouble shuffling even some of these. I shuffle sideways. I feel so upset that they dont all make "a unique perfect cardstock!" I could deal with them being playing cards cardstock. Played cards mnany years. Those cards would service time! Thanks
Some decks do improve in shuffling after I've used them a bit. I often will split a stiff deck into sections and just shuffle a smaller pile to sort of "break in" a deck. Thanks for your comment!
Hi Ana, my name is Carmen. I just saw you on the Fools apprentice channel. Im really glad i did. Pleasure to meet you. Im a forever beginner. Ive been interested for years. Bought decks. But never really got iknto reading. I did with an oracle Deck but that was it. Ever since ive been buying decks. I do intend to get to it. Well, im real happy to see what you have to share. ❤ & I totally get you about modifying decks. Ive done myself with scissors. To make them more adapted to my hands. It does i do connect with those decks better. I have very small hands as well. ( You are very lucky to have your hubby to do that for you) Good for you. 😉👍🍀🌷 *Also- really love what you did with those cards.
Hi Ana! Nice to meet you. I found you through The Fools Apprentice. Very nice to meet you! New subscriber. ❤💕 That is awesome your husband can trim down your cards. Your decks are beautiful. I really like all of your bags. Wishing you a great day!
Ooh....two cat decks I have never seen! Did you get the Jade Oasis edition of the Nine Lives deck? I'm drawn to the Velvet Symphony edition. How do you like the Nine Lives deck? It seems closer to Rider Waite Smith than the Paw of Light deck.
I think of the two, I prefer the Nine Lives Cat Tarot since it sticks to the traditional RWS suits and the illustrations are really well done. The Paw of Light is really cute but since all the suits have been changed, it could slow down a reading, especially if someone is newer to tarot. If you get the Velvet Symphony edition, I'd love to see images!
