I love Gillette Platinum (Russian). I have 250 Wizamet Super Iridium blades ready to go when my GP’s run out. All told I have about 12 years worth of blades.
For me a do like several blades in different Razors that work for me my top 3 blades tough choice but right now are 3.Wilkinson sword 2.Shick Stainless Steel 1.Feather blade.special mentions to Tiger Astra Green and Willys blades
Wow, tough question! For a long, long time, I only bought and used Wilkinson Sword. They did me well and I simply just used them. I then branched out to other blades. Not including Wilkinson, if I have a new razor, then I would pick REX, Filoso, or Treet. There are others that I have found work very well but for a go to it would be one of the three. I have tried Voskhod a couple of times and it was honestly painful. It may have been a bad batch of blades but it will be a while before I try one again.
@@MullyShaves It might just have been a bad batch. Not sure. I have purchased another batch from another supplier. Maybe they will be better. I know many folks like them. My experience with them has not been good.
Personally, I think razor blades are way overrated. Any of them will give a good shave if used properly. Of course, we all have our favorites. Over time my favorites in priority order became Gillette Nacet, Astra Green, Personna Comfort Coated (aka Lab Blue), and Wilkinson Sword (India). But they all shave about the same. What's different with them for me is how many comfortable shaves I get. I can use Nacet for up to 5 shaves and the others for 3-5 shaves depending on my beard growth.
Shower is possible. I then mix up my shave soap either in a bowl or on my face. Doesn’t matter how. The big piece to this is work the lather in well with a brush. Work it into the beard. I even use my hands. I then scrape off the lather with my hands. Making sure some of the residual slickness is left behind. By this time the the whiskers are moistened and ready to be shaved. I then start over. Lather up and start 1st pass. I then just shave like normal. The main thing js to make sure you have enough lather.
Shower, rewet face, apply a pre shave treatment (the Cube or a liquid non-oil based type) and rub it in, whip up a nice lather in a bowl (primary technique for me), lather my face well to ensure enough hydration and cushion, then load the razor blade in the razor to give the lather time to “work” on my whiskers. Brush is soaking in warm water during the shower.
@@ThunderHawk22 Let me put it like this, 3 days ago I saw someone on RU-vid reviewing a razor I had just shaved with. My opinion of the razor was that there wasn’t much blade feel, it was smooth, efficient, a very comfortable shave. This guy, he said it was “quite aggressive” (????????) His opinion of that razor was the exact opposite of mine. So far away that I realized that my opinion of it means nothing because someone else could get it and find it completely different from what I said. So, for me, no, there’s not much blade feel. It was smooth and efficient. It took care of MY neck without any issues. The thing that I’ve found with it is its odd angle. Once I figured that out it was/is a very satisfying shave. My advice, watch as many reviews as you can then proceed with an open mind.
Less irritation, save money, less waste, closer shave, better quality products like artisan soaps, brushes, and razors. Plus it is more enjoyable and less rushed than when I used a cartridge.
Like Wittar7090 said, it’s so relaxing, but as I think about it, my biggest enjoyment is probably choosing what to use from all the options. It’s always a new shave👍
Not at all. I've had people actually come to me and thank me for turning them on to wet shaving because it's really relaxed them. One guy even went so far as to say it's changed his whole life. Says he's much calmer. Feel relaxed, brother!!
@@MullyShaves I love it, something about the shape that keeps the lather in the bowl. The copper warms the lather nicely if kept in warm water. Cleans nicely and it’s just simply beautiful. Treat yourself, you deserve it🍷
