Im not sure if this is what u meant, but here’s a video explaining a bit about the TAS’ing process if ur interested :] ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I3HRi2xAmg4.html
is there anyway you can explain how you get back onto the starting platform without opening? or can you post a video with a stick input on the screen? would be very helpful, trying to get 10k!
Assuming ur talking about the hit at 0:35, that was some very lucky collision I only ever saw at high speeds on certain spots on the ramp. I dont have any way to reupload this with input display, cuz smb1 doesnt have any mods that easily show stick inputs when playing back a TAS file. If u really need it for something, i could try sending u the TAS file itself, but idk how useful having that would be. (Also that file is pretty large)
Also are u trying to get 10k on the 10-round version? Cuz if so, u definitely dont need that jank beginning hit or any of this TAS movement to do that. If u get 5 bunches on each round and land the 500-pt buoy it should total out to 14900 iirc (15k exactly if u dont use the singles on the starting ramp and only collect bunches)
This is a custom level pack called “Super Monkey Ball Stardust!” Here’s the release trailer for some more info including the download link, if ur interested :D ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F-KIEbIcaA4.html
Idea: You should put episode numbers on these! Or at least something similar. Maybe even just the date and a tag saying that there's live, banter commentary. It would communicate to the audience that these recordings are more like a podcast.
Ty for the suggestion! I’ll throw in my logic here for why I don’t already number these kinds of videos as episodes: They’re not really meant to be a linear series. U dont really need to watch any others to understand the most recent one. I also don’t use any other “[live]” or “[commentated]” tags cuz i try to keep my titles as short as possible, and i’m used to the convention of speedrun PB videos always being trimmed from livestreams with commentary, perhaps thats not always the case on youtube though. I also don’t really have an idea of how many ppl actually watch my PB uploads as podcasts, I mostly upload them so anyone who misses the stream can see that it happened and maybe skip to the reaction at the end of 10-10, as well as for live proof on speedrun.com. Maybe more people than i expect use them as podcasts tho, i wouldn’t know! :0
I've reached a peculiar skill level where I fear Typewriter, but smirk at Wrecking Balls. Also, Waffle Weave is another new enemy of mine, even after I showed it respect by finding its funny little easter egg.
Congrats Nambo! It's pretty surreal, I still remember watching hours long streams of top players trying their hardest to get a single stunt goal when Stardust first came out, but then you just come crashing down, blowing all of them away, record after record (honestly it's more of a "PB after PB", I don't think anyone one else is crazy enough to do this lol). Very fitting for being the creator of said hack in the first place! And while we're at it, I would like to just make a quick question... I really like SMB, but I'm not super deep into the community, and thus I have no idea of what other projects are being developed right now. Tell me, what are some of the biggest works-in-progress for me to keep an eye on?
Thanks for the kind words!!! I should mention that Goobz (another incredible player) is right on my tail in this category, his pb is a 38:58 so it’s definitely not a solo race :0 As for other projects, if u have any interest in seeing ppl post about their packs as they work on them, I recommend joining the SMB Level Workshop discord, we’re always happy to have new people even if they’re just here to spectate! The discord: discord.gg/CEYjvDj As for works in progress: Meech is close to releasing a pack titled “SMB Rehash to the Past” (a full story/challenge mode pack with 150 unique stages) SHK has been working on a pack of SMB1 remix stages called “SMB Redux” DyrudeSMB (creator of Launch) and Zona have started work on a collaborative project called “SMB Ignite” but that’s a big project that’s early on in development Cutsman (creator of Gaiden) started work on a sequel to his pack called “SMB Fukkatsu” which will feature over a hundred stages and custom mechanics, but that’s also early in development There’s definitely more out there but that’s all i immediately thought of, definitely recommend joining that server i mentioned if u wanna see more details or just say hi to the people working on these packs! :D
@@namb0 Thanks! And in the time since I made my comment you've crushed the record yet again... Outstanding, to say the least! Lets see if a sub 38 is on the horizon. The works in progress are also very interesting. I'm glad to see Dyrude is making another one, but what really caught my eye was the Gaiden sequel. Can't wait to see what new crazy gimmicks and devilish gauntlets Cutsman will come up with!
You know, I had always theorized what would happen if you landed on the targets without ever going into flight mode. It only made sense that since you never did the thing the game was expecting you to do, it would just let you roll around. I'm glad to see that theory realized. Also. This has to be one of the most entertaining non-commentary TASes I've ever seen.
