The need for contemplative wisdom and consciousness is urgent. Without a change in consciousness, the future for humanity, and the whole of creation, looks bleak. Only a change to a more contemplative consciousness, which has at its core what Anglican Solitary Maggie Ross calls “Deep Mind”, can offer a more hopeful future. In Christian terms Deep Mind is the Holy Spirit: the fount of love, grace, wisdom, care for others and all of creation, forgiveness and healing, unity and reconciliation, and life-giving creativity.
Living Water aims to promote:
- Contemplative wisdom and consciousness, both within the Church and also within the wider secular culture, and in particular the realms of politics/economics, the environment, the sciences and the arts - Christian meditation, and more broadly, contemplative prayer and the Christian contemplative tradition - Social justice and care for creation - Interfaith dialogue, understanding, peace and reconciliation.
Again, I must address my brilliant and venerable, elde🎉r scholar brother, Matthew Fox, the leading philosopher of spirituality alive today in the Western world, with a respectfully frank reminder: knowledge in one field does not automatically mean one also has knowledge and understanding in other fields. Intellectuals make this mistake all the time. In light of that, I must say frankly, with great respect, that you, brother, are politically naive. The US Democratic and Republican parties are now, both, deeply corrupted and essentially owned by Wall Street and the WEF. Please look more deeply before speaking about subjects outside of your field of expertise, or else refrain from talking about them at all. This applies to all intellectuals, by the way. And it simply must be addressed, fiercely, and now. We simply must cut through the fog, or die slowly. A new Renaissance is being born. And a rebirth of confidence and dignity, in balance with genuine openness and humility, is its very foundation and its womb, its lifeblood and its fire. J.
