*Perfect for my fly in fishing Canada trip>>>**allmy.tips/ekbs** Wouldn't have done near as well without it. Easy to navigate and bright display. I used a chunk of plywood to mount base to, the Velcro to mount to boat bench. Same with battery. Used peice of plastic conduit and c clamp to mount transducer to boat. Would have bought a suction cup for transducer if I would have planned better and had more time. Nice that it can mount to electric trolling motor too.*

Thank you for this video! I have the Bote Rackham with Tacklerack and was trying to figure out the best way to mount my Garmin ECHOMAP Plus 93sv with the two transducers (Panoptix and CV52HW-TM). I'll just need to figure out an easy way to rotate the Panoptix and I"ll be set. Thanks again!

Hey Landon, Did you find this pack heavy before and after you loaded it up with gear?? I'm eyeing their new pack Simms Dry Creek Z Fishing Hip Pack and it's a whole 9oz lighter and VERY comparable storage space. The only thing it lacks is extra pockets, mesh pockets and maybe a work bench. Is work bench a deal breaker for you?? I've gotten this far without a work bench, and never really cared to pursue one when looking for a hip pack until recently.

mike n I personally did not, but I will be honest in saying that I have never been an individual to factor in weight or count ounces. If that helps answer your question. Ha. The shoulder strap however will alleviate any weight off the hips, which is a big deal to me. Not utilizing the shoulder strap did make the hip straps extremely uncomfortable. I do however utilize a lot of those extra pockets around the sides. Great extra quick access storage. I could live without the bench though. I never use it and I do mean never. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the quick reply Landon! I didn't think so. I've always been a sucker for extras. That work bench doesn't seem like a deal breaker to me anymore. That insight about the shoulder strap was spot on. Thank you for your tips and advice! I plan on using this pack for other things than salmon and steelhead. I'm a huge black crappie/bass/and perch fan so it's nice to be able to carry your entire tacklebox on your hip :)

Is it dedicated to just fly fishing or would you say you can put Plano stowaways in there?
@lando15
@lando15 6 лет назад
Jesus Vargas It is extremely universal. You could definitely put Plano’s in there and utilize it for any kind of fishing.
@jesusvargas841

Landon Mace thanks. I just didn't want to to drop the money on something that's dedicated to fly fishing, I want something that allows me to packs at least 2 tackle boxes since I'm mobile while bass fishing and I use everything from soft baits to crank baits, jerk baits, frogs. Thanks again!
@lando15

It’ll definitely work for that. You’ll have plenty of room to store all your other gear as well.

Does it have a net holder? I know the new Simms sling packs do.
@lando15
@lando15 7 лет назад
Paul Vannoy It does not have a dedicated net holder. I simply run the handle of my Rising Lunker net between my pack & back and it does not go anywhere. Sits really well there.
@activelifehiltonhead7518
@activelifehiltonhead7518 5 лет назад
@@lando15 The net holder is that "key pocket" in the back. Handle goes straight down in and D ring is for pull cord. Great vid.

Thanks for sharing brotha! I'm looking at getting this pack so I can film better for my channel. Darn sling packs get in the way of. A chesty mount.... all in all... how is the pack with water?
@lando15
@lando15 7 лет назад
Got1Fishing Glad I could help! It's a awesome pack. It's really good with keeping water out. Only time I have had water get in, is with some serious deep wading chasing fish. Keeps rain out really well.

Thanks for getting back to me! I ordered one and it will be here tomorrow! =] Can't wait! I've used a sing pack and chest pack... so far the chest pack is my favorite cause I don't have to sling it around EVERY time I want to tinker around. Just Can't film with a chesty mount that way. Hoping I love this hip pack as much.

nice! looks more user-friendly than you had before. one thought: why not mount the transducer to the other Connexsup tie-down? that way you don't have to run the wire down the board.

Nice videos man! Loving the Bote boards, just bought a 2016 Rackham . What kind of trey is attached to the tackle rack? How does it attach?
@lando15
@lando15 5 лет назад
Mickey Chance Sorry for the super late response. It was a tray that Fly Fishing Paddle Sports made out of Florida. They might still have them on their site.

Love what you've done with the TACKLE RAC, which Tackle Webs did you buy and how much were they? Also the upper portion of your rac has a flat surface, a mini table if you will. Where did you get that from?
@lando15
@lando15 8 лет назад
I wish I could remember the size TackleWebs I have. I will try to get that figured out. The flat surface on the top of the Rac is the Tackle Tray. You can fin that at www.flyingfishpaddlesports.com

Thanks for the run down. Looking at getting the Ahab for a replacement of my Flood. For fishing the flood really isn't stable enough for me. I was wanting a fish finder set up and you have it all lined out. Thanks for the instruction! You wouldn't be able to compare the Rackham vs the Flood or the HD for stability for me would you? Have you been on either of them?
@lando15
@lando15 9 лет назад
Stability from the HD to an Ahab is going to be night and day. I have been on both and the Ahab is by far the cream of the crop. It is by far the most stable board that Bote has to offer with the Rackham coming in at a close second. I have been on the 2016 HD though and that board is legit. There is a new style of nose on the boards and it cuts through chop very nicely and the board is extremely stable. I can't speak for the other 2016 models, but they are all looking really solid.

Great video. Me and my wife are thinking about getting Bote boards. I am thinking about the Ahab and she is thinking about the rackham. What is your opinion on the boards?
@lando15
@lando15 9 лет назад
Thank you! The boards are great. You can't go wrong with either one of those models. I have only paddled the Ahab, but it is an awesome board for its size. Since it was designed with a racing hull, it paddles really well. The raised decks do a good job of keeping a majority of water off the deck. Some new features are coming out for the newer model boards, so if you are not in a hurry, you may want to get with your dealer and find out how long till they get the newer models. They would definitely be worth a wait in my opinion.
