This video was in my "Watch later" playlist for a long time...idk for how long tbh but I know I've been having it recommended by RU-vid many times since forever...and today I finally watched it
It is so elegant. I do have a couple of question though 1. Is the slant not 55 degrees for copperplate? 2. For how long do you recommend practising fundamental strokes before moving on to miniscules and then majuscules 3. Do you recommend practicing with pencil prior to dip pen ? Thank you kindly. Love your work
Hello, thank you very much for your comment & compliment. 1- Copperplate can be written according to different angles between 50 to 55 degrees. 2- It is better to practise the nine basic strokes to learn them very well and then small letters can be started, so you can write them beautifully and enjoy your work. 3- No, it is not necessary. I have taught more than 1000 students during the last 25 years and all of them leared Coperplate directly without learning with a pencil. Best regards, Hamid
Hello, Thanks for your comment. It is a Brause nib no.86 but it is a vintage nib and isn't produced by that company anymore, so you can use a Brause nib 361 instead.
@@hamidrezaebrahimi Thank you so much for responding. Your work is truly exquisite and mesmerizing - I come back to this Video over & over again. Every time I write a number, I think of you & this Video! :)
