Before this commercial, my next purchace was between a Ford and Toyota. Thanks for helping me choose Toyota. All claims in "commercial" were debunked. Hope those $100,000 trucks rotting in dealerships works out for ya.
1) Dorothy Luvit did not invent a rear view mirror for the car, she only suggested using a hand-held mirror to look back. 2) Florence Larence did NOT invent the turn and brake indicators, it was patented 5 years before her by Douglas Hamilton. 3) The "car" heater was not even for a car. 4) The windshield wipers were originally made by G.J. Capewell in 1898, later on the woman decided to improve it, and yet she was then given the nomination for the "invention of windshield wipers" 5) This supposed "wifi" was actually a mechanical device to guide torpedos into precise locations, and actually didn't end up being used by the navy. 6) Although Dr.West contributed to a part of GPS, GPS was actually invented by Roger L Easten, Ivan Goetting and Bradford Perkinson. Now I would like to know.... What would a "Women's Only Ford Explorer" look like?
Ok so let's clear up some false claims here. 1, the rear view mirror. Dorthey Levitt was a secretary turned racer. She used a small hand mirror to see behind her while driving. However, attachable dash mirrors for cars were for sale on the market in 1908. Dorthy wrote about using a hand mirror in 1909. So no she didn't invent the rear view mirror, she just noticed it was helpful. And she's wasn't an engineer. 2. Turn and break signals. Percy Douglas Hamilton recieved a patent for a device that indicated the intended movements of a vehicle in 1909. Florence Lawrence claimed she invented an auto signaling arm that was raised and lowered by an electric button and the stop indicator works with the break peddle, in the January 1914 edition of green book magazine. There is no images, diagrams or other descriptions of turn signal flags, or what she describes in the magazine and she never applied for or recieved a patent a turn signal. There's only that 1 article. So no, she didn't invent turn signals She was also a theater and stage actor, not an engineer. 3 car heater. Marget Wilcox invented an in car heating system in 1893. The first car in the US was sold in 1898. The heating system she invented was for train cars. The first heaters in automobiles was a completely different invention and one made by a man. 4. Windshield wipers. Mary Anderson invented a window cleaning device in 1903. However, in 1898, George.J. capewell recieved a patent for a window cleaning device system that used flexible rubber strips. Mary Andersons device was a major improvement as it was actually effective at clearing window on moving machines (trollys, trains), but she was not the inventor of Windshield wipers. 5 wifi and GPS. Hedy Lemarr with George antiile invented a mechanical device that prevented a radio guidance signal being tracked or jamed during WW2 using frequency hopping. they presented it to the military as a player piano in a torpedo. The military rejected their invention because current technology in torpedos worked without radio guidance. However frequency hopping was already invented decades before and was being used by Nicola tesla and others. 6. modern GPS Dr Gladys west worked on the development of computational techniques for detecting satellite positions. She deserves to be celebrated for not just her work, for being a great American, and is a hero to not just black women, but to everyone. This woman is incredible, she's one of the smartest and most talented people that helped move us forward in satellite technology. However, she did not invent GPS. Roger eleaston, Ivan Getty, and Bradford parkenson invented GPS. There's no need to falsely attribute invententions to women to honor their contributions to the automotive industry, both directly and indirectly. Instead of making a ridiculous ad that makes false claims about inventions, taking away credit from the actual inventors, as a way to "honor women". Maybe just make an ad where you acknowledge the actual contributions they made to improving vehicles, and the industry.
It is bullshit to setup ford station. It’s been full day now, trying to setup on mobile app, so far no luck. Wifi sometime shows and most times doesn’t. 😢😢😢😢😢😢

I just installed a carseat on a newer explorer and it had a automated middle seat. From what I can see the Latch system in the back was repositioned to the lower base. Is this true?
