CONTRARY TO MS. WILLIAMS BELIEFS THERE IS NO MEANING TO LIFE , OTHER THAN WHAT THE INDIVIDUAL BELIEVES LIFE TO BE. THAT IS WHERE RELIGION COMES INTO PLAY . THE MAJOR RELIGIONS HAVE VERY DIFFERENT BELIEFS ABOUT WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE , AND WHAT IS MORAL . AND . OF COURSE , WHICH GOD IS REAL . THERE IS NO GOOD REASON TO BELIEVE THAT ANY OF THE 20,000 OR SO GODS IN HUMAN HISTORY WAS REAL , AND THE BOOKS OF THE VARIOUS RELIGIONS HAVE VERY DIFFERENT VIEWS ABOUT WHAT IS MORAL, OR NOT MORAL . PEOPLE FIRST CAME TOGETHER VERY EARLY ON TO PROVIDE THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF SAFETY IN A VERY DANGEROUS WORLD , NOT FOR ANY SPIRITUAL REASON . THAT CAME LATER, AFTER SAFETY WAS OF LESS CONCERN
Only recently learned about Urban Trails because of all the trail closed signs all over Jackson County they put up. It’s a bicycle club as this guy repeatedly stated. Zero regard for pedestrians. Current Trails are dangerous now with cyclists just plowing through and running over people and children.
Not a big fan of Urban Trail Co. As this guy clearly says. It's a mountain bike club with no regard for hikers. They lobby to open mountain bike trails, chain saw healthy trees and bobcat and plow out the forest for their bike trails, then spitefully block off hiking trails. No regard for nature, Rude and selfish
It's so wonderful to hear you tell your story in this way, Evelyne. I learned more about you in this interview. Also, great job, interviewer for allowing her to share.
How timely! This interview would be a great offering for the November 4th first annual Racial Justice Convocation at Independence Boulevard Christian Church. So good to hear about restorative justice from someone who devotes his life helping people to to this. That you, Fred and Greg!
Fred I really found this session very interesting. Something so different for me to delve into. I kinda had a hard time keeping up. But very interesting. Thank you
Thank you for sharing what "shame Christian thinking" has done and presenting the truth or insights that Christian thoughts are really about love. Thank you 😊
My dad died a year ago today, and I just saw this video in my recommended. I think he sent it to me to let me know that he’s always going to love and care for me even in death.
Three things: 1) Brian didn't really get to say much about his book because you keep interrupting with your I'm-a-fallen-megachurch-pastor stories. It would help your interviews to exclusively focus on your guest. 2) Both of you seem to be stuck in the Complexity of Syncretism. I don't recall ever hearing about saving Faith, saving Grace, the Word, or Sanctification by the Holy Spirit - nope, it was all about 'me', 'my' works, 'my' apologies, how to live 'my' life, 'my' interactions with minorities, how ''my' works make me feel good. Well, if it all comes down to being good and doing works then, yes, Islam, or blue Hindus, or Sikhism are all equally legitimate roads to the same god. 3)... but Christ is the only Way, the only Truth, & the only Life. He cannot tolerate our sin, He cannot abide our 'works', and through His Work has provided the only way out of the consequences of our Sin. Certainly, we must be humble and compassionate toward each other, but uncompromisingly bold about Christ's message and His expectations of His followers.
Ouch! Man I’m so glad papa doesn’t make me feel the way I felt from reading your comments. Last I heard from the Holy Spirit is God’s not counting our sins against us . That man is healing, and his guest was gracious enough to show love and not making his book more important than his life experience. Be kind.
@@sharongood8257 I think "being kind" is a good strategy when you are not sure what to think of something; that is, if there is some doubt in your mind and you just don't feel you can make a good judgement. In light of your comment(s), let me look again at my points: It was obvious that he did interrupt and telling him so will help him be a better interviewer, but I could have stated it more kindly. He and his guest are not following the Bible closely enough implying goodness is the goal. Perhaps this, too, could have been couched in kinder language. Finally, I stand by being compassionate but uncompromising with the Word. Maybe my comments should be worded slightly differently in the future, but without compromising on the truth.
@@theworkman317 thank you, I may have been a little touchy myself, but I just got free from legalism and after 55 years I’m walking in freedom. I grew up thinking the bible was the word of God, and when I finally learned how to read the bible and understand that Jesus is The Word and The Holy Spirit leads me and I participate in my life with God I see people differently. I just know God is better than we think
That was such a great interview! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Tennessee is one of my favorite songs ever written & to see Jessica sing it…WOW!! What a monumental talent!
