Do you have tutorials on how and where to apply the oil and grease. We just had this exact turntable passed down to us. I’d like to tune it up a bit before we use it.
Very impressive, another beautiful Australian radio. Both Canada and Australia, at one time, had great domestic electronic industries. It's great that the Commonwealth Sisters have so much in common, especially since they are geographically so far from each other. 🙂
Nice video. I have this same reel to reel. Do you need to oil anything? There are 4 spots that say Oil with an arrow. However, not really seeing where or how to oil those locations.
Hallo Habe auch so ein DEck. Habe gestern riemen gewechselt. Jetzt geht das Auto Reverse nicht mehr. Es schaltet zwar, aber läuft nicht. Hast du einen Tip für mich LG Gerhard
I've had this same unit since 1980. In the 80s-early 90s I used to tape music off the radio. By the late 80s, I stuck with Maxell UD II tapes, kept them in the house and they still play like new. In the past year, I took an 1/8" pin jack to 2 RCA jacks, plugged it in the audio output of my desk top and the other end to the input of the tape deck. I bought up a bunch of Maxell/Memorex blank tapes in the late 90s at a discount "just in case". I recorded a bunch of mid 50s-early 60s rock/rockabilly/ doo wop off youtube and It's amazing how well the sound is played back on this deck through a same era JVC receiver or in my 1996 CHevy truck or 1986 Olds cutlass. If the song I record is from a clean 45, I swear I can hear sounds on this analog tape that I don't hear on a CD. Or it's just nostalgia making me think it sounds better! Amazing how this "made in Japan" unit still records and plays this good 44 years later.
ANRS was Automatic Noise Reduction System and Super ANRS was an improvement on that and it was better than Dolby C or Dolby S. I still use it and all of my old tapes were recorded with it.
Actually it is a 3-head deck because it has the X-Cut SA head for recording. I used to have the brother KD-A77 and it lasted until I purchased a JV.C DD-7.
No its a 2 head deck 100% if this was a 3 head JVC would have made this a 3 head deck when I was 18yrs old I sold this decks as a 2 head as per JVC info.
I like this song, my dad bought the 4 track 7" EP back when he used the HMV Rhapsody radio-gram, I have these till this day, when CD came about I put all the old 45's out for yard sale, Verdelle Smith Tar and Cement EP and Slim Dusty Trumby EP sold, I regreted that years later, rebuying them cost me $30 vs the 50c a piece when I sold them
Made in Taiwan since 73, I have a RA-211 10W/ch, it has a nice tone, I felt the fb seller overpriced it ($200), it hasn't been recapped or new transistors installed, the 2sa564 transistors in front end board are known to rustle and crackle. I just won a 311 fully recapped and improved (feedback loop modified) for $177 on ebay and another 211 which starred on YT ($150) and I bought a 322 tuner to match with the 311 @@Justplast
Totally agree, I got one of these, found it at a thrift shop dirt cheap and in amazing condition, I noticed the speed is slower than normal, do you know if that may be just a speed adjustment or could it be belt issue? I'm planning to replace the belt, but I came across a vague RU-vid video showing someone adjusting the speed, his video is very bad and doesn't explain anything. Any suggestions?
Hello, how did you go about replacing the capacitors in the Kenwood TS-50? I also plan to change the tantalum smd capacitors on the same transceiver. I would be interested.
I could not find this set of smd tantalum capacitors at "hobbyalf" on ebay at the moment. Do you have at least a list of all smd tantalum capacitors and others?
I have the black edition and did a mod to change the fm frequency, it now runs from 80.0 to 95.80 instead of 87.50 to 108.0. Love this vintage tuner, bought it for only €15 with indoor antenne for fm. Lucky me 🥳
