I just had a feeling, because the story isn't too great, DreamWorks never really intended for this to be great as a story. I just thought they just solely focused on designing their characters enough to where they could sacrifice their sanity to Rule 34 artists. Because they full-on knew they would do that.
While I do want to see them reconcile in the end, I hope that when they next meet up Miles kinda either goes a little off on her or just wants nothing to do with her. Really letting her know how much she hurt and betrayed him before he finally forgives her.
This did not include scenes where Chelsea sits in a cage like an animal, humiliated, and publicly, and with threats to eat her, and it is not known whether they were brought to life. A very cruel fate for this cutie, if you think about it. And by the way, saying that "all mermaids are evil" is just plain racism. I do not feel sorry for this red-haired beauty, but the film does not stand up to any criticism from the point of view of ethics and morality.
While I do like this movie, I personally think it would have been better if they went with Chelsea and Nerissa being different people. Like, make that SEEM like it's gonna be the twist, but then have a sort of, double twist (if that's the right term) with it being revealed that they actually aren't, and Chelsea is legitimately just a nice person.
i think the movie would have been a lot better if instead of *hey your parants and tradition is allways right* was about your parants and elders being wrong some times and that tradition some times isn't the absolute thruth
I feel like they would’ve been better off as best friends, like they would have made a plot twist in the movie to reveal that Chelsea is a actual good person..
I feel like even if her character was built up more and the twist in the end wasn’t so painfully obvious, she still would be a pretty forgettable character bc of the movie’s awful writing
