This is my first ever tatting project! I'm using crochet thread though, so I can really see what's going on. I had to start over *so many* times lol, it's been a real struggle over the last couple of days, but I finally finished the first part! It is *extremely* wonky, the chains especially are all uneven and different lengths (a tension issue, the long ones are much looser than the short ones), and I'd already finished the last ring before I came back to the video so I'm missing that last join... but it's my very first one, I figure it can be a bit wonky 😂

Oh my goodness! This was so helpful and clear!! Thank you so much for this video. Someone mentioned that they got into tatting, and I immediately went to look into beginner videos and found yours. It's so much easier than I thought it would be thanks to your teaching! I can't wait to get started! ^_^
One trick I found that helps me with a piece that has multiple rows is to press it with an iron and a cloth over it using some sizing spray. Keeps me sane as I continue working on my project. Hope that's helpful to others.
