@leoangel27 I just couldn't bring myself to include that joke in the video LOL But, since you asked, here it is. There were 2 flies sitting on a piece of poop. One fly looked at the other and asked, hey, who farted? (Yes, my family is a little strange, ha ha)
You’re awesome and adorable, been searching for easy camp meals, we have a 9 day trip coming up. Thank you. I’ll watch some of your other videos and sub! ❤
Hello @leoangel27! Thanks so much for the kind words! I love longer trips, it's so nice when you feel like you can relax and enjoy yourself instead of having to "hurry up and have fun"! Where are you headed for your 9 day camp trip?
Hi and thanks for subscribing! I do have keto camping recipes, you can find them here www.campingforfoodies.com/keto-camping-food/ If you have any questions or suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
Great info as usual Kim - very useful tips. We use propane for just about everything anyhow. Or an induction cooktop powered by the 120v outlet on the side of the trailer. We are heading to Alaska next week, and I need some tips on how to cook there! Usually I just leave the cooking equipment out overnight if I know we are going to be around for a few days - but with the bears up there no way I'm going to do that. Have to setup and tear down after each meal :( Probably be cooking in the RV more than usual... You guys take care !
I am so excited about your upcoming journey!!! Please watch out for the bears and stay safe. Cooking in your rig is a great idea. You can also cook directly over a campfire so you don’t have to leave cooking equipment outside overnight. Dutch oven and foil packet recipes are great options for that. Have a GREAT TIME and enjoy your adventure ❤️
You always do such a great job with your videos. Great information. I always just assume there is a stage one fire restriction in the summer time regardless. We are going to up to close to where you are in this video at the end fo July.
Thanks @azxp! I also started assuming the constant stage 1 restrictions a few years ago. It’s so much better to be surprised there are no restrictions when we arrive instead of being surprised they are activated 😊
One of my favorite no-cook meals is a tortilla with a flavored tuna packet. My favorite is the Jalapenio tuna with a piece of sliced cheddar cheese. You can make these before the trip or very easily on the trip. In fact I had that for lunch at my trip to Cinder Hills just this last weekend. If you don't add the cheese, you don't really need to refigerate it.
Just found your channel. This would be a great sight but I found it difficult to find the recipes. Went o the recipe page but found it difficult to navigate through the advertising. We camp for long trips and am always searching for menu ideas for the long haul. Hoping this was the channel to aid in long haul ideas. Have you ever tried to navigate your own sight, if not, I suggest you might try that some time.
Hi @cynthialindsley5117! Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know you found my site difficult to find the recipes. I actually have all ten recipes listed directly under the RU-vid video on the page. Each recipe name is hyperlinked directly to the printable recipe. The section below the video has this title: 10 Recipes In The Video. I hope that helps. I would love to be your best source to aid your search for long haul ideas. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know. Also, my camping food page is here www.campingforfoodies.com/camping-food/. This is where you can find recipes for different cooking methods, special diets & crowd sizes, cuisines & meal types, seasonal & holiday cooking, meal prep & cooking tips as well as a list of all of my recipes. Again, THANK YOU for sharing your thoughts with me, I really do appreciate you!
Great video!!! I’m literally menu planning when I found this video! I’m heading north - where food is even more expensive & sometimes limited. So I need to be prepared for 2 weeks. I am grouping everything together- so I know I have what I need. Then I can fresh stuff as I need it. I’m making sure I have lots of staples.
Hi @laurahockman6341! I'm so glad you found my video helpful! Last summer I actually planned food for a month-long trip and I only shopped once before we hit the road. I have a blog post about keeping veggies fresh you might find helpful. You can find it here www.campingforfoodies.com/camping-veggies/ Here are my recipes that use shelf-stable ingredients www.campingforfoodies.com/camping-food-recipes-no-refrigeration/ I'm curious to know where you are heading to in the north? Some of our friends went to Alaska and said the prices got higher along their travel route. The further north, the more expensive everything was (they started their trip in Arizona). We've got that destination on our bucket list so I'm gathering information from others that have experience.
@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna thank you for the links! I’m headed to Hazelton, BC. That is on the way to Alaska- if you go through BC. It definitely gets more expensive- this why I am stocking up now. Plus stores run into limited stock all the time. And I’m visiting family & still working a bit - I do not want to be running to the store for groceries, with my camper on the back of my truck. If I need a few fresh things - that’s what I will pick up. My food boxes etc. will add a lot of weight - but to me it’s worth it for the convenience.
@@laurahockman6341thanks for the info! I would love to hear about your trip and your lessons-learned once it is over. I think you're planning is spot on! Have a wonderful family visit and safe travels!!!
SOLO CAMPING IS AMAZING FOR SEVERAL ASPECTS. FOR ME IT WOULD BE LIKE LIVING ON THE EDGE ESPECIALLY IN WINTER WHERE THE TEMP IS MINUS(NOT NEGATIVE) WHATEVER. YOU'RE STEAMING HOTV IN YOUR TENT. YOU HAVE A WEEKS WORTH OF GOURMET FOOD, AND AS LONG AS YOU'RE CLOSE TO HOME AND THERE ISN'T A MAJOR SNOWFALL COMING. THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS TO ME!!
Hi @NormanLor! That sounds so exhilerating, I especially love the part about having enough gourmet food to last a week! I have a friend who loves winter tent camping and I'm amazed to see how easy it is for her to stay so warm inside her tent. Thanks for sharing what it means to you to love camping!
Awesome concept for a video - great footage and very professional voiceover work - well done! Those are some fantastic places, we have been to many but many we have not - the list is ever growing :). Take care you guys!
Thanks you guys! Your opinion means the world to us! Our ever growing list of places to experience is getting really long too 😊 I think we’ll need to go full time to actually finish the list!
Hi @rousseautr, I am so sorry you had a bad experience with ads. I will certainly look into that to make some changes. Can you please tell me which recipe you were looking at?
@@rousseautr oh my gosh! Thank you for reaching out, there was a glitch with my ads and I would not have known if you didn't bring it to my attention. It has been fixed. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Hi Edna, thanks for the question! These fries are more gooey because of the liquid from the chili and creaminess from the cheese. My grilled potato wedges have a crispy texture. You can find the recipe here www.campingforfoodies.com/grilled-potato-wedges-camping-recipe-video/
Well @jessieroot9954, I can't say they respond to kisses but we sure do everything we can to get them to pose for our photos and videos just a little longer 😅😅😅😅😅
Thanks Kim. Short and sweet, but very comprehensive from how to search (and confirm), how to spot check, and get and pay for it. You've thought of everything a novice might have a question for. Kudos!
Thank you @hoangvu220, I really appreciate your kind words! Do you use a lot of propane when you camp? We use much more propane in the winter when we run our heater.
I think you'll love them @johnhumphries4632. They are almost like magic! Do you find yourself trying to light wet wood very often? If so, you'll really be impressed with their performance.
These recipes look great Kim! We always try to eat well on our trips, and we will be adding these to our repertoire. So easy and so delicious - Thanks!
Thanks @bobanddangsjourney! I know you guys always eat well on your trips, I've seen Dang cooking in your videos. And, Bob grills a mean steak on the Blackstone. Next time we see you guys, we need to make time to share a few meal ideas!
Thanks Kim. All great ideas and the clips of how to and what it should look like really helped. I have no idea why I get so intimidated cooking at camp. You make it look easy, thanks again. Also, now I'm going to go look at your other videos too.
Hi @dianabradley7582! Thanks for the kind words! If I had to give you only one tip to make camp cooking easy, it would be to keep things organized. I've been thinking about doing a video on this topic. Do you have any specific questions/challenges I could help with? I would love to put specific tips in the video to help you!
Hi @tamitarekolayan9918! Welcome to the RV community! If you have any questions about RVing, please let me know. I'd love to help in any way I can! What type of RV do you have?
@@tamitarekolayan9918 nice choice! We have a friend who has one and he absolutely loves it! He can get to beautiful boondocking places we can only dream about going in our Grand Design 5th wheel. Keep me posted on your adventures!
Seems like a lot of trouble. I bought a Joycooker for $7.00 at the Thrift Store they sell for close to $100.00 They can be used to bake and you don't need to buy charcoal. Your recipes look very delicious!
Hi @sjordan7085! I'm glad you think my recipes look very delicious, thank you! I'd love to learn more about how you use your Joycooker. Is it similar to a crockpot or an Instant Pot pressure cooker used in the slow cooker setting?
Hi @rogerbouchard7135! I've never wrapped corn in bacon but I'm going to try it now, thanks for sharing! Do you serve it with any condiment or sauce? My husband always says, everything tastes better with bacon 🥓
It took a little getting used to but eventually it became easy for me to bake with the dome. If you have any questions as you begin using yours, I’d love to help. And, if you have any recipes you’d like to share, I’d be excited to try your recommendations too 😊
I love shrimp. When we are camping shrimp is always on the menu. Like you I buy the frozen peeled and deveined shrimp. I’ve made shrimp kabobs, shrimp tacos or just grill them and add them to salad.
Hi @rene-ro6oe , we use homemade ones too, made with toilet paper rolls and lint which are great when conditions are dry and we have plenty of kindling and dry wood. Colorado is one of our favorite states to visit! Do you have a favorite place to camp there?
I use lint in egg crates and pour wax over them. Never needed kindling. We only got to camp at 3 places because we were visiting our Son in the Springs, plus we didn’t have all our solar and batteries upgraded last fall. South Meadows in Pike Forest close to Woodland Park, Cheyanne Mountain State Park and San Lois. I can’t wait to get back that way!!! We full time now so hopefully.
You know, @bobanddangsjourney, the "He-Man Torch" is always Pete's answer. He loves carrying around his weed-burner and 1 pound propane cylinder to do little tasks around the campsite. That includes pre-heating my Dutch oven. 😂
It all looks delightful, especially the pizza and the bacon wrapped grilled cheese. The pizza "sauce" is sauteed veges! Aka, deconstructed pizza sauce! I like it! The bacon cheese looks like a good thing to make ahead of time to freeze and use to help keep your cooler icy..... I'm preparing for camping now and will make a few of those. I could eat that for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert with apple pie filling!!!
Hi @johnspruit7296! Thank you so much, I'm glad you found this helpful! And, it looks like you are a fellow bacon-lover (by your profile pic) so I just have to share one of my favorite recipes with you. It's my bacon-topped meatloaf and it's one of my family's favorite dinners! www.campingforfoodies.com/dutch-oven-meatloaf/ Happy camping! Kim
This is a very cool tip - I didn't even know there was such a thing as a dutch oven dome we are going to have to get one of those! Great job on this - thank you :)
Yes, @bobanddangsjourney, you totally need one of these! You will be so happy you have one in the middle of summer when fire restrictions are activated across the entire Southwestern US!
If the flame goes out there is still some propane left in the tank due to the tank pressure at the regulator dropping below 11" of Water Column. Or 1/3 PSI. Weigh the tank, subtract the Tare and you will find 0.1 or 0.2 pounds of propane left in the tank.
Ok. Light a match then hold it in front of the connector on the tank and open the valve. If it goes "fwaboom" it had gas in it. Unfortunately, you only get one try using this method.

@@CampingforfoodiesKimHanna Hi Kim, I went online and researched local warehouses immediately after watching your video. Sadly there are none nearby in my area in Southern California. I'll keep my eyes peeled, though!
You're welcome @uncagedtravels6391! We have saved SO MUCH MONEY by purchasing our propane at Costco! If you have favorite camping destinations, I'm all ears. We're always looking for new destinations!
