Thank You!! I have been dealing with this issue for a month now. I changed the battery 3 times thinking it was the battery. I was just about to buy a new FOB until I came across your video. You saved me some $$ Thanks for sharing!!
I shut the door with doors unlocked, key inside and it locked! FING piece of sht. My phone was in the car...had to borrow neighbor's phone, call locksmith and pay $153 to have locksmith come out an unlock it. There should be a class action lawsuit.
This was the first video google/RU-vid recommended to me for this problem, and your solution worked like a charm! My car would lock every time I took a step until I was out of range- quite embarrassing. No more! Thanks for the info.
I’m going to give this a try. My truck randomly keeps locking itself. And just yesterday, it did it with the keys in the ignition with the truck running!
I have a problem where my car remote open the door and then lock the door immedisstely before I can even pull door handle. Happens with both of my fobs so I wonder what could be the fix.
Did it crank but not start with the remote? Or nothing at all when using remote? I have a crank but no start with remote but using key it starts right up. Nice vid! Thanks
Yesterday, I had inadvertently gotten locked out of my van with the engine running. Who knew the possessed key fob would lock me out and totally ruin my day. I can't unlock the doors with the fob, but at least it stopped the door mechanism from locking and unlocking on its own. Thanks!
Five minutes sounds like a short time for it to run. However, the car is programmed to run for no more than around 10 minutes when started with the remote, then shut off if the key isn't inside the car.
I love the backseat driver rear assist mode lol awesome. I wonder what kind of car you have. I'm trying this with my 2007 Malibu with an aftermarket remote starter. But it doesn't seem to be going into that program mode.. I recently bought backup remotes when the original aftermarket remote broke 1/2. I was able to get the standard remotes to lock unlock and pop the trunk. But the remote start is not responsive at all. This aftermarket remote start has a dongle that receives the signal from the remote which is plugged into the car. But I don't know how to get it to recognize the new remotes
I had a 2010 Dodge Journey. The aftermarket remote that I had was compustar. Sometimes it takes several tries to get it to work, so I'd say give it a couple more tries at different periods and see if you find any luck
